We have talent now but we have forgotten our football DNA. The old black stars were built with the nation's football DNA. Transition has also failed us, Essien to agymeng badu, appiah to kwadwo asamoah, Anthony Annan to rabbiu Muhammad, John mensa to Jonathan mensa, pentsil to inkoom, sarpe to afful etc was 80% good but lost it from there. It doesn't always means playing good at your club makes you good player for your national team. The national team has it own DNA so let find players who fit that DNA regardless of where one play. We also need to kill corruption in the local football, especially on the side of our coaches. God bless Ghana ❤

This is my favourite Ghana tournament. We played 2 strikers? That was very offensive! That would never happen now. Essien + Muntari basically ran the team. We were never a good defensively but this team could create enough chances. When Leroy played Essien in defence against Cameroon that ended our chances of the final. Without Essien + Muntari in midfield, this was just another average Ghana team. I really think if we had won this AFCON at home it would have changed Ghana football. RIP Agogo

Sure sure I remember. Essien/Muntari was the core of the team in the midfield. After John Mensah’s red card in the Nigerian game , he forced Essien to play defense and that was the end of our journey. We could have beaten them with Essien in that midfield. I remember he left his defensive line wanted to come to midfield and pushed the team and they got that sharp counter attack and scored the only goal through Nkong. It was so sad.

My favorite game in this tournament was Ghana vs Cote d' ivoire But as time has gone by it is Ghana vs Morocco Ghana had already qualified with 6 points already; beating Guinea 2:1 and Namibia 1:0. Ghana could have gone with a draw or even a lose to allow Morocco qualify but no. The still imposed themselves and got all the 9 points This is the Ghana I used to know Now make no mistake, Ghana football is destroyed now, but it began way back in 2010 after the World Cup in South Africa. It started deteriorating slowly, and now we're seeing the full reward of our corruption!

Even though we were third in CAN 2008, the team was better than this BOMB SQUAD who play without passion and enthusiasm. Also just look at the state of the pitches back then and compare it to the current nature of the pitches, it will clearly tell you that we lack the attitude of maintenance. Until we stop employing corrupt officials in Government ( the President, ministers, GFA, NSA ) we will continue to suffer. How on earth can a football nation like GHANA be banned from playing matches at home. I agree with Ghana's all time Capito Stephen Tonardo Appiah that this is an embarrassment to the country.
