Not good to feed while you work as a reward. Food is not to be used as a reward .

You couldn't be more wrong. Science completely disagrees with you. Better yet, my horses totally disagree with you. They thrive in my training which emphasizes motivations!

@@reflectionsfromthesaddle I've seen many of accidents happen with horses grabbing the pocket or snack bag and a chunck of flesh comes with it . Science is just a theory not recognized by horses .

Some things to ponder that might help especially if you are concerned about giving treats by hand. In your training sessions you can have a bucket nearby that you can place the food in eliminating the need for hand fed treats. You can also start working with other rewards besides food that your horse finds motivating. This takes more thought on your part to discover what they are for your particular horse but I've incorporated A LOT of that in my training the past couple years and it really works well.
