I've seen her three times in concert. She did a late encore. Most people had left the auditorium. The fire doors would not allow them to re-enter. I ran down to the front of the stage. The band returned and most of the audience had left. I stood, almost touching the stage, as she sang to ME!. I have met many famous people through a friend in Hollywood. But seeing and hearing, Sade that close was amazing!. That deep gorgeous voice.

She's the definition of a true star. A unique talent and style , stunningly beautiful, mysterious and über seductive. I'm gay but a woman like her makes me question my sexuality...
That is the pronunciation. It is a Yoruba name and it does not adhere to the rules of English. It is short for Folasade meaning honor confers a crown. No H no ay no r but that's how it sounds. This is also my name. It is also not french as a lot of people try to say it is. Marquise de Sade whom I think may be the reason many think sade is or french origin actually is pronounced Sad like the emotion. Etymology is also a passion as I studied English literature and language. Cheers
@rosycross34386 жыл бұрын
Beautiful name.
@delerocky6 жыл бұрын
Sade can be pronounced with or without the H sound. (Shahhde) or (Sahhde) the a has more of an "ahh" sound to it. The (sh) pronunciation is the most popular one though. There is no R sound in the pronunciation though.
@LemonySnicket-EUC5 жыл бұрын
It's Shar-day. It's spelled out on her CD.
@delerocky5 жыл бұрын
@@LemonySnicket-EUC Well she does live in England and only spent her very early years in Nigeria. But as someone who is Yoruba and can speak the language I can guarantee you there's no R sound in the pronunciation of Sade. It's actually a popular name amongst the Yoruba in Nigeria. But if you prefer to pronounce it the wrong way there's nothing else I can tell you. I was just trying to provide some authentic information to her fans
@truquarian5 жыл бұрын
The R is more in reference to it's enunciation in the British tongue. Even common words like "no" and "idea" are often pronounced with an R sound as well - American English just doesn't have that tongue, so we pronounce most words as they are spelled. How and why do people even argue it?
