Well, the first time I saw Sade performing "Is it a crime" was during Live Aid back in 1985. I always thought that Sade was to young to make music like this. Unbelievable that Stuart Matthewman composed a song like this at that age, really amazing. And with this video everything comes together. The band matured and life gave them some scars. This is a great performance and Sade can be named in the list of jazz singers like Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Love it !

The whole setting of this performance. From the point of dropping those red curtains to the end is phenominal. Funny thing is that I lost track of Sade for many years because I was more into the techno scene and due to a remix of Pearls I got interested again. And oh boy, almost 50 years now rediscovered this band. Hope they will come to Holland sometime to perform at the North Sea Jazz festival. Although Sade is not a festival band I'm sure they will do fine there.

Why has it take me so long to discover what is the perfect 'quiet storm' performance?! Wrapped in the in warm silk of Sade's voice which like the sax rips apart with loss and is perfectly counterbalanced by the lyrical piano and then rend again by the guitar supported by isolated, statuesque staging that is melted by sinuous movement. Real musicians playing real instruments Live.....with no Auto Tune....I have seen her 2x....and I would see her as many times as I can.......she is a fantastic performer and she doesn't try to overshadow the terrific band....

It's just unbeliavable that her voice just doesn't get old! She's sounding even younger than in Live in San Diego in 1993. What a legendary singer!

In my opinion Sade is the most beautiful woman on the face of the Earth. Listening to her sing is like making love to my ears. I've felt this way since I first heard her sing back in the early 1980's. And what I respect the most about her is that she will not put out a song/album unless it feels right to do so.
