A live recording of a Buddhist mantra performed by Isha volunteers at the Dhyanalinga Temple in celebration of the day of consecration.
Mantra text:
Аum tare tuttare ture swaha
Viki: Tara (Skt. तारा [tārā] IAST, "star", Tib. སྒྲོལ་ མ་ [Drolma] "Savior") is one of the main bodhisattvas (idam, enlightened beings) of Buddhism. She was born from the tears of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara when he mourned the suffering of the world. From a tear that fell, a lotus grew, and from it was born Tara, who became his wife.
The main mantra of Tara is the same in Buddhism and in Hinduism: Skt. ॐ तारे तुत्तारे तुरे स्वः [oṃ tāre tuttāre ture svāhā] IAST. By Tibetans and those who follow the Tibetan tradition, this mantra is pronounced: “oṃ tāre tuttāre ture sohā” [wylie: oM tA re tu t + tA re tu re swa hA].
The person reciting her mantra - oṃ tāre tuttāre ture swāhā - conquers all demons, destroys obstacles and achieves the fulfillment of desire. The peculiarity of reading the Green Tara mantra is that the reader may not remember the whole mantra. There is a legend that one man was walking across the bridge and suddenly, being in the middle of the bridge, he saw a demon, he turned back, and a demon was also standing behind. The person did not remember the whole mantra to the end and read what he remembered. Green Tara came down and helped him. It is believed that when a person blinks, while his eyes are closed, the Green Tara manages to fly a thousand times around the earth, so she manages to help everyone who asks her about it. At the same time, a few years ago in the ancient capital of China, the city of Xi'an, there was a case when, during the one hundred thousandth recitation of the Green Tara mantra, the transparent crystal beads of a practitioner named Yatou (丫头) changed their color to green, which testified to the synchronization of this yogini with the Green Tara.
Other sources: Green Tara is addressed as the embodiment of all enlightened ones, as a Comforter, as a protector who quickly responds to requests for help, as a patron deity who shows compassion and love to all beings, comparable to a mother's care for her children ...
It is believed that sometime, even before realizing the state of Buddha, Tara was a woman walking the path of a Bodhisattva. This woman made a vow to continue her path until she reaches enlightenment in the body of a woman, and after achieving the highest enlightenment, she manifests in female forms.
Tara provides support to those who seek enlightenment and those who seek protection in it, it is an example of how enlightenment can be achieved by anyone, regardless of whether it is a man or a woman.
You can turn to her with your experiences and problems.
