Sadhguru Interview: In latest episode of Frankly speaking with Navika Kumar, we spoke to Sadhguru on a range of issues including Ram Mandir inauguration, secularism in India, language row, Bharat renaming issue, economy and much more. He said, "I have the invite, and it came from the Ram Janambhoomi Trust, not from the Government of India. I am humble that they invited me, but unfortunately, my schedule is such that I'm not in the country then..." Further he said, "'This is a country of diversity & we should be proud of it... We went through linguistic division because we thought all languages should live... We must respect all languages." "Secular doesn't mean to kill all religions. It means every religion has an equal right to participate. We are not a secular nation because even our temples are not in our hands. The govt is running our temples. How are we a secular nation?" he questioned. On economy front, he said "We are the fifth largest (economy), & I think we will be fourth in no time, probably by the end of this year or at least by mid-2025." While speaking on the hindi name of country he said, "We are not an English nation but we were ruled by English. So, calling this country by an English name is a very silly thing. We should have changed this during independence. On August 16, 1947, it should have been 'Bharat'." Watch the video to know more.

You don't protest when your employers impose the use of a foreign language on you. You also don't protest when educational institutions impose a foreign language on you to create a bridge between people of different backgrounds and regions. However, you only encounter problems when someone asks you to learn a language from your own country (unlike a foreign language that is imposed on you, and you take pride in it) you oppose it by all means mainly due to political reasons. As a Hindi-speaking national, I would have accepted any South Indian language if it were established as a connecting language throughout the country and could be understood by the majority of people in India.

If we incorporate Hindi there's very less benefit and Hindi speakers will be at advantage as it's their mother tongue. Already they are advantageous in the government sector. Maybe search for that. Hindi will destroy regional languages. Hindi doesn't have international value in corporations and it's not so developed like how English has. English will have new words each day and it has that capacity. So we choose our mother tongue for our houses and locality and English for business and growth. By this all Indians can be on the same page. See the bigger picture. English isn't a foreign language for us it's an international language. No work gets done at the top level without English. Isn't this why Southern India is so developed already?

Don't try to pretend, everybody aware of how English is prioritised in Schools of UP as well. Understand the difference between choice and imposition. In the name of connecting language how much funds given to push for usage of Hindi? If given a choice between English and South Indian language you prefer that foreign language only because that helps you to communicate with outside world and your work life. So why do you expect others to not chose English. Who are these people to give certificates that if you know Hindi then only you are national? Keep your preachings with you only when you are not ready to practise it. If Tamil people say everyone must learn Tamil how it will be? Won't makes sense right? same way.

Bharatha is a Sanskrit word based on well validated metaphysics. It is applicable to the whole universe, not just INDIA. Bharatha the land mass is derived from the Shabdha Brahman term ( bhava (expression) + raga (melody) + thala (rhythm) Bha + Ra + Tha !! Except TN, in all other south Indian states most people can understand and also speak in Hindi. @@indianmilitary The defination you gave for Bharatha is not written anywhere there is also a definition for Bharata which says it means fire bearer. Bharatha is first used in Rig- Veda which mentions the Bharata tribe one of the 10 tribes. Secondly the problem is not whether we understand Hindi or not it is whether we want it to be our only national language or not and the answer is NO. India has English and Hindi as the official language and it has to be continued as it is let there be both languages removing English is unacceptable for us.

If you try to make Tamil as common language others will raise question why Tamil and in that list Hindi speaking people will be in the lead. The problem comes when you have the superiority complex and treat others as below you rather than equal. If you go outside the country the common language Hindi, Tamil won't help. English is the global language and that invaders language is needed outside the country for communication. Come out of the mindset of invaders lang, Britishers lang. Just because I don't like someone, hating everything related to them doesn't makes any sense. Even in UP, English medium schools are preferred over Hindi. So come out of the mindset that only one section of the country is not ok with Hindi. The whole of d north understands n speaks Hindi.. ☝but there is no single language prevalent in d southern part of Bharat ️ ......otherwise we northerners could hv learned that language as well.. cz we don't want a language barrier between the northern n southern part of Bharat ...the same way we wish you d learn hindi if you want a connection with d northern part of Bharat! Whatever sadhguru said about language.. i see no solution in that ..just his "opinion".. so i totally disagree with him on this point D only solution, i(n many others, especially d northerners) can see .. is to make Sanskrit the mother tongue of Bharat.. a single language taught n learned throughout d country.. uniting the whole country!

Surprised at sadhguru's stance.... First time I find him illogical.. He says we r not an english nation but wants to use a brutally imposed language english to unite Bhaarath 😄 Love local languages celebrate diversity but use desi language Hindi to unite country not a foreign language.... We cant unite or not even understand if everyone starts speaking their mother tongue.. Hindi is only the desi alternative to english
