No matter how your mother was toward you, you need to forgive her because she didn't know any better. That brings you peace within. As for caring for her if it's out of duty or guilt, not noble. But it should be out of sheer love because she gave birth to you and raised you. Put whatever time you have available caring for her, but only if it's done out of love, not duty.

What does your HEART tell you? Don't listen to people saying you need to be there for her. That's horseshit. This is your life! If it makes you feel terrible or sad, remember - you have FREE WILL for a reason! No one can judge you for what you pick. If she was toxic to you, ask............what is lovin towards YOU to do? There is no right or wrong answer. But society will give you lots of rules and expectations if you ask it........so please be kind to yourself and gauge where the opinions you are readinghearing come from.
