@@sextempiric7137 It's the "wisdom". Not everybody deserves this. Not everybody can feel this. Wisdom isn't knowledge. @Tripjoy Paul Hello Tripjoy. I don't know what he told you "personally" as his comment seems deleted. But one comment he made was "only possible for Swamiji to make such a resounding statement" which definitely seems like an honorary statement for Swamiji. I don't think he meant to demean Swamiji in anyway. By the way, I would like to tell you that I completely agree with your saying that Swamiji acquired that kind of purity and immense possibility by semen retention. Even the master(Sri Ramakrishna) had to clarify to his other disciples why he treated Naren so dearly. It's because he knew that the impact his teachings would bring to Naren's life would be far greater than anyone else's.

The version of the encounter that I learnt as a child was different. Vivekananda asks, "Can you *see* God?", which is significantly different from "Can you prove there is God" as recounted here. The former is experiential while the latter a seed for an intellectual debate. Ramakrishna's response was, "I can see Him as clearly as I can see you, and I can show Him to you if you would like", which shook Vivekananda as it was a very different response from what he heard from many other teachers of spirituality of his time, to whom he had asked the same question.

There is a correction. He died at the age of 39 and NOT 32. I remember because he predicted his death 10 years in advance. He didn't see a need to preserve the physical body and had been always saying to his students that he has no wish to reach 40 years age and that he will pass away just before he reach 40. And that is exactly what happened. He died while doing meditation in his room, and some say it is maha samadhi. From Wikipedia - On 4 July 1902 (the day of his death), Vivekananda awoke early, went to the monastery at Belur Math and meditated for three hours. He taught Shukla-Yajur-Veda, Sanskrit grammar and the philosophy of yoga to pupil. At 7:00 pm Vivekananda went to his room, asking not to be disturbed; he died at 9:20 p.m. while meditating. According to his disciples, Vivekananda attained mahasamādhi; the rupture of a blood vessel in his brain was reported as a possible cause of death. His disciples believed that the rupture was due to his brahmarandhra (an opening in the crown of his head) being pierced when he attained mahasamādhi. Vivekananda fulfilled his prophecy that he would not live forty years. He was cremated on a sandalwood funeral pyre on the bank of the Ganga in Belur, opposite where Ramakrishna was cremated sixteen years earlier.

Wonderful! Thank you vey much for sharing. ❤️ 🙏 "The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna" recorded by Master Mayasaya is one of my favourite books. Master Mayasaya was a very close friend of Paramahansa Yogananda and also met with Paul Brunton in the 30's. I love all the stories of the 19th and 20th century Self-Realized Masters. I very much appreciate Sadhguru's special insight. 🙏

"If there has been anything achieved by me, by thoughts or words or deeds, if from my lips has ever fallen one word that has ever helped anyone in the world, I lay no claim to it; it was his. But if there have been curses falling from my lips, if there has been hatred coming out of me, it is all mine, and not his. All that has been weak has been mine; all that has been life-giving, strengthening, pure, and holy has been his inspiration, his words, and he himself. Yes, my friends, the world has yet to know that man" -Swami Vivekananda in 1897 during a Speech in Calcutta.

Thank you so much, Sadhguru, for sharing your great wisdom with us. I am so interested in all your topics, giving me great help every day. I also listened closely to your advice not to drink water directly from the pipe but to let it rest for at least 24 hours what I do now. Although water in Austria is great in itself, I even feel that the taste changes and gets still better. But sometimes I need to heat it up and I wonder what you think about the microwave oven. Does it destroy again what is reached with the resting period or do you think it has no impact on the water (or on other food)? So many thanks for your great help and wisdom again.
