All the clips I've seen of the theatrical production, everyone played Sadie's character like she's just some angsty teenagers who's trying to be cool. Sadie's interpretation was spot on and pitch perfect; it's not that she's just a one-dimensional teenager, it's that she has never had unconditional love so she rebels against everyone.
