Here's another episode that has two technical errors---and both were them were for cars. For entertainment purposes only.

Keith still should've known that the last number was a five. The object of Pathfinder was to get off the board by following a path that made by the numbers in the price of the car. Since that zero would not take him off the board, it had to be the five instead.

I did realize now if you listen very closely. After he stepped on the 0 and buzzer went off you could hear a quick ding. Have they kept that ding going it would’ve made things even more confusing.

I noticed another production error right at the beginning. During the first contestant row bidding, trudy bid $570 but the audience was so loud Bob and the tech crew didn't her. Bob asked her if she $500. She nodded yes. Then the big guy next to her says hi Bob how are you today? Bob said you bid what? And the contestant said uh.. $600. Lol!

There was an episode when the game Ten Chances was a epic fail. The ones who set it up didn't put the scrambled numbers card up so when Bob pulled the first cover off, the winning price was shown. He won ALL three prizes, A shredder, a gas range and a van I think. Good stuff.

I wonder if Bob's "I don't feel about it" came after someone from CBS' Standards and Practices department talked to him...

The show's policy is if they make any mistake the contestant gets the prize.

Usually they have to give them the full prize if they make a mistake by law, but in this case I don't think they were obligated. Just because the number was lit up doesn't mean he had to step on it.

Keith should have been the top-winner in the showcase since he got the car after all!

Other memorable "technical" wins: • "Safe Crackers" (posted on KZbin)-contestant dials in wrong price, but safe opens anyway • "Barker's Bargain Bar"-one prize had its ARP and bargain price switched • "One Away"-one of the trilons didn't match the corresponding digit in the car's price • "Temptation"-gifts and their prices presented in the wrong order • "Range Game" (played for a car, at that)-price already revealed • "Push Over"-prize shown on set didn't match the announcer's description • "Hit Me"-Bob inadvertently stopped the game prematurely (it's the house, not the player, who must stay at 17+) And the most notorious: • "$uper $aver"-Bob misstates game's rules, causing contestant to lose game

Given that two of the pricing games resulted in their respective contestants receiving the car via errors, I'm wondering if CBS blacklisted this episode from repeats.

There's a 1989 episode where a contestant won $10K in Punchboard just because a hole punched out didn't contain a slip of paper in it, and on the same episode One Away was won because a 1 was shown as a "wrong number" for a 6.
@pm412249 жыл бұрын
The two games that you say had technical errors in this episode are _Any Number_ (discrepancy in the price of the car) and _Pathfinder_ (someone pressing the wrong buttons in the prop controls). Both contestant were awarded the prizes anyways. You can't blame Bob for these mistakes, but maybe this was not a good day for those car pricing games...
@TWWoo398 жыл бұрын
+pm41224 Oh you most certainly can blame Bob for the first mistake. She asked the question, he failed to answer it correctly - and furthermore, paid no attention to her after she lost and tried to explain his error! :P
@blindsportslover8 жыл бұрын
I most definitely blame Bob for that first mistake. You got to know these rules back to front. Misinterpretation is unacceptable.

Gerard Landry if you had any kind of brain in your head you could figure out that Bob isn't going to tell you the last number of the car is a 1 and let you win with zero effort. He said there's "another one" meaning another number in general. This girl was dumb. He misspoke but even then you should be able to figure out that he's not just going to hand you the last number

@MrBowtie19828 жыл бұрын
trudy shouldn't have gotten the car. her fault for not paying attention to the rules of the game. of course bob doesn't know the price of any of the prizes. if he did that could cause a problem. keith shouldn't have either. bob clearly explained it was the 5 or 0. he already got one free number and then blew all 3 chances.
@dougbradshaw79248 жыл бұрын
I disagree - Bob told her there was another one in the price of the car. Oh well - it was 20 years ago. The car is in a landfill somewhere LOL
@Wheeloffortunefan9998 жыл бұрын
i agree, but a court of law wouldn't have, (and i guarantee you she would've taken them to court had she not been given the car anyway.)
@davestation94658 жыл бұрын
I also disagree with what gsherman said about Keith, as the fact that the 0 was already lit up might have lead him to believe that it was the last number.
@Hollypenopepper7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on both of them. Both of them were just handed a prize. They didn't actually win it. Bob wasn't going to tell Trudy that there's a one in the price of the car when there's only one number left LOL and Keith just blew it all together.
@Hollypenopepper7 жыл бұрын
DaveStation94 they made it very clear that the zero would not turn off...that doesn't necessarily mean that is the correct number to choose. It was just a technical difficulty. It wasn't some kind of subliminal message or had any secret meaning. It was just a light that wouldn't turn off. 😒
