I just wanna add that people who own cockatiels whom I know have told me their experience with small cages. The tiel's feathers, particularly the tail, get ruined and looks scruffy and unpleasant when they are not given the adequate size of cage. I think that's bc their tails' length can't fit idk I haven't really seen it in person. Just wanna tell y'all. I love this new video I swear I crack up every time you put captions on Emma and Charli!
@saeshell3 жыл бұрын
yeah small cages aren’t good in any single way, i don’t know why pet stores promote them so much when small cages provide anything but good to a cockatiel. also Thankyou so much! I’m so glad my editing is finally paying off 😎🤍

Another spectacular video Shelly! You’re cockatiels are so lucky, you take immaculate care of them. And the little captions with Siri voice cracks me up! 😂

Hey!! I’m getting a cockatiel next week and your videos have been so helpful but what do you do during very cold winters to keep the birds warm when you have to leave them home alone!? Love you lots xxx
@saeshell3 жыл бұрын
I can’t speak for most cold weather countries as here in australia is doesn’t drop into the minuses like most cold countries do so my birds keep warm with their feathers ( ofc, they can regulate their body temperatures! ) and luckily my room doesn’t get overly cold. I would suggest looking into this more as unfortunately I don’t have answer for you!

Can i use scented washing powder like Tide on my bed covers and clothes? I am getting a boy cockatiel this week.

Also, I’ve been told to not give our cockatiels Cheerios or any other fortified breakfast cereal. Too many added nutrients that they can’t handle.
@saeshell3 жыл бұрын
dry breakfast cereals like cornflakes aren’t toxic so your bird can have them in very, very small amounts as a treat! but that’s about it 🥰

I might be getting a bird soon and I was wondering wear did you get your natural hardwood perches for your bird and I know that I can get branches outside and sand them down but I’m trying to look for one that long and goes across the cage like yours and all I can find is small ones. Btw thank SO much for your content cause I would literally be lost without you! 🙌🏻😄

Thanks for doing these videos. I was scared my cage would be too small (It'll arrive this week and then I'll get my two cockatiels) but it's actually a little bigger than yours and they will be able to fly freely most of the day.

I am very worried about my cockatiel getting sick or even dying from my roommate's cooking. He uses very heavy cooking oil and high heat and cooks a lot of meat which causes a lot of greasy spatters and sometimes even smoke. After reading your list of toxic things, I am concerned. What can you suggest? Thanks!
