G'day,
In today's video I chat about the White Lions of South Africa. South Africa is the only country in the world that has wild white lions. Even then, the 5 wild white lions of South Africa are all found in either Kruger National Park or in the Timbavati Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger area.

The white female used to be seen alot around orpen in the kruger as well . I stayed at Orpen in Jan 23 and had here and here pride for the whole morning at the watering hole in front of the fence and even saw a failed hunt from two of the females less than 40m away from the fence . What a morning and an experience of a lifetime

Great video, thanks for posting this one Brian! We just missed seeing Casper back in 2021 and then again this past June. It was one of those….you just missed him….moments each time. Can’t complain though because the distraction that held us up this time was a mating pair right next to our car on the S100.

BTW I love the introduction Brown, Red, White or Pink Lions I love them all Could you do a video on the lodges in Timbavati and how the traverse arrangements work😊

Thank you 🙂. We haven't been to Timbavati so not sure about the traversing rights. I have a mate that works at Kings Camp so can reach out to him. I'm sure another local who had guided around there said lodges can traverse the whole reserve except on the patch the lodge owns around the lodge. I'll be doing a video on pricing of the various private reserves in the Greater Kruger so can add that in If I don't forget 🙂

I reached out to my mate who works at Kings Camp in the Timbavati about traversing rights. His response: Yeah they(lodges), all have quite a large area they can traverse with small properties here and there that you can't. But it's quite vast over all.

I think they have variable patchwork agreements with particular lodges based historically on the old farms that were there before they ‘pulled the fences down’ Just back from Mala/ Shalati which were great but keen to try Manyeleti at some stage, though the Timbavati seems to be productive too Thanks for your efforts
