There were many different series and types of notes printed prior to 1928 by the Federal government, and values range from the very common 1923 $1 Silver Certificates (blue seals), worth from $10 to $100 depending on condition, to ultra-rarities that can be worth tens of thousands of dollars or more. 1976 to 2003 $2 1963 Red Seal $4 to $6 1953 Red Seal $4 to $6 1928 Red Seal $10 to $20

If I was to say the most valuable and my most favorite would be the red seal $5 bill the second valuable would be the red seal $2 bills
@aslbinky5 жыл бұрын
My father was a huge collector of monies and taught me about them. The bills with the blue seals are called Silver Certificates & are usually worth a lot more than the face value. The red seals are called Gold Certificates & are also usually worth more than face value. Both are pretty rare, but the difference is back when they were first minted, the Silver Certificates could be exchanged for silver & the Gold Certificates could be exchanged for gold. Obviously for this reason, the Gold Certificates are more valuable (because gold is worth more than silver). The $2 with green seal is a reprint (meaning it was printed recently) & only worth $2, but the $2 gold certificates are originals (printed back in the 1920's through 1950's) & worth much more. Same goes for the $5 red certificate but it is more rare than the $2 red Certificates. The silver pennies are also a rare find, & it's when they are NOT magnetic that they are worth more (because pure silver isn't magnetic, but some silver pennies were pressed with magnets in the ingredients when silver became hard to find or was too expensive. The silver dollar coins are a good find as well. Some were pressed as pure silver too, so that may be why some are in protective seals & some are not (you can check if they are pure silver by looking at the edge of the coin). The wheat pennies can be worth some money too - some of the wheat pennies were actually pressed as pure copper back in 1920's through 1950's, but not all the mints were doing it, so check all of them. For all of the coins, there were certain years were the materials needed for pressing was scarce, so coins from those years are worth much more money. If you want an estimate on anything specific, I'm willing to help you as much as I can, plus there are good books available at Barnes & Noble, try Google, (it's not reliable), or you can take it to a pawn shop that knows rare money & values. Hope this helps!

It seems to me that the smart way to handle items you know little or nothing about is to be a lot more careful with them. Watching you throwing the coins around casually while repeating that you don’t know anything about them irks me something fierce. If you keep doing that, one day it will come back to haunt you because you will end up damaging something that was extremely valuable and make it worthless. When that happens you will have no one to blame but yourself.

On occasion, a bill shows up that has a small star in place of the final letter in the serial. This star represents what is known as a replacement note. When a printing error occurs during a normal press run and renders a set of bills unusable, replacement notes are used instead. With replacement notes, a set of serial numbers can still have the proper number of bills even if some of the original bills had to be pulled. The replacement notes have a sequence of their own, using the star as their final "letter." This allows for 99,999,999 possible replacement notes for any given bank, series and denomination. Some collectability value.

In my experience you put them on ebay and the collectors will know. Believe me if they're rare they'll fight each other for them..

The Bill's with the blue seals are silver certificates. All money used to have silver backing its value. Bill's now a days are reserve notes.

My left foot is disfigured from several unsuccessful surgeries so I have to wear a cast boot all the time on my left foot so I only use my right shoes. Perhaps you found a locker of an amputee or someone in a similar situation as me. I’ve often thought of trying to make some sort of shoe trading website because there has to be someone out there that can use my brand new never been worn before left shoes!

No I have a 1928 red seal 2 dollar bill and it's only worth 10 dollars
@rogermartin67325 жыл бұрын
Red seals are 1928, 1953 or 1963. value for 1928 $4.00 to 50.00 depending condition. 53's or 63's very common. low value in those conditions. Better luck next time. Silver dimes worth a buck a piece.

Hi Jebus, look at the bills to see IF it says, This bill is legal tender. If it says that, really check them.
@TreasureHuntingWithJebus5 жыл бұрын
Definitely will go back and check! What does that mean if it says that?
@caroleroseburgh13445 жыл бұрын
@@TreasureHuntingWithJebus if it says that, it's normally the real deal, and you should have them checked out.☺

The bag of food stuffs maybe someone's home made bug out bag/day pack for camping. Check them fully, if someone is a hard core camper you can find a cordage bag, a fire bag (lighters, tins of tinder, & etc) a medical kit, and some items to handle a 24-48 hours of camping.

Star note..when an error is seen on the full sheet, it is cut out and destroyed. To keep the printed number correct, the Star note is the replacement for the bill that was cut out and destroyed..how rare is a matter of perspective...newer bills may be worth a little ore than face value

From the land down under Australia I know that any (25¢) quarters dating from 1930 to 1968 definitely have got silver in them for example a quarter ( 25¢) might have the value amount go up by ...( 400% to 1000.%) depending on the price of silver at the time of selling. USA coins that were made before 1930 even have more silver I them then the ones that we were just talking about up top the (1930 to 1968) The 1930 quarters (25¢) were made out of 100% silver so in reality you had four times the amount of money in that quarter (25¢) then necessary this is what you call a government stuffing up. Enclosure: If you ever come across Australian paper Dollar notes that have the words ( The Commonwealth of Australia) for example the ( $1.Dollar Note ) & $2: & $5: & $10: & $20:& $50: they can pay up to 100-% to1000% it's all got to do with quality of course I had a Commonwealth of Australiathe $10 Note and I sold it for $160 Dollars. Other Australian paper dollar notes that we don't have any more that just say Australia they can be worth 5 times the amount to 15 times the amount a $1: Dollar Note that I sold for I got $10: Dollars. There's an old saying you learn something new everyday. Ps l liked it when everyone got together and help that's family out 7 or 9 self-employed Warehouse lockers all who had their own businesses and got and helped no just the mother but the whole family the two kids the mother and the sister where to go good Guys as you yourself and some of your best friend's George and Jerry Hales and nut locker and there's so many more friends that helped. And it's Jerry said it's started with you when you came across in the warehouse locker Three boxes of human Ash each box had its own name and digging through more paperwork you found out the people's name and through that you re knighted they're lost parents that we're in the warehouse back to the rightful owner and then you done more on top of that I like this old saying what goes around comes around good luck to you all. Anyway that's enough for me for now from the land down under Australia.
