REACTION to SOOJIN (수진) - BLACK FOREST PERFORMANCE VIDEO

My delusional analysis: 1. She starts out in a small rectangle (cube?) of light surrounded by darkness. Sitting on the floor and dancing by herself while seated. During the distinct move where her hands mimic fluttering butterflies also caught my eye here. Maybe this represents her trainee period or youth when she dreamed of becoming a dancer and/or idol. She loved to dance but wasn't famous yet and still "on the ground" so to speak. 2. During the main part she stands up, the entire stage lights up brightly and she is joined by two blindfolded dancers. The movements here are large and sweeping with lots of circular motion. This could represent her period as an active idol. Being in the public spotlight and performing in the larger world and as part of a group. 3. In the last part she falls to the ground and the spotlight contracts again, this time to a circle. Lying on her back she kicks and reaches, struggling to get up again. Eventually she manages to sit and after a pause resumes dancing while seated. Again she performs the same "butterfly hand" move but this time only with one hand. This i believe symbolises her fall from "the stage" and the following struggles of trying to get back on her feet and recapture her dream. The fact that she only performs the butterfly one handed could maybe mean that a part of something fragile and delicate was lost in the process. Or from a more positive perspective it could mean that the seed of her original dream still remains.

We had Soojin for almost 4 years, then they took her away from us for 2 and a half years. I am still shaken up. I will buy fucking everything to do with her. She suffered one of the worst injustices in the history of the industry. Words are not enough.

When I learned of the news that Soojin signed under some new company called BRD Communications, I called BS on that. It just sounded like a rumor. I couldn't find anything about the company and Soojin herself hadn't confirmed or denied it. This morning though... talk about a crazy surge of emotions. I can't believe she's back. After two years and here she is! I've never been so glad to be so wrong.

I never actually looked BRD up until today, also have not actually found anything solid about the company. Due to certain things that companies do and other things that companies don't do, I have an attitude when it comes to K-Pop of "I won't immediately believe anything I hear, I will believe it only when I see it." I totally get the thought of 'meh, it's just a rumor'. Of course, NOW, I am still not sure I believe it...I am going to have to go find somebody to pinch me to make sure I am not dreaming...

When I first watched black forest part of my brain wasn't convinced it was Soojin. Part of me thought it was some elaborate scheme from someone that was using her name for clot. After about a minute into the video it really hit me that it was truly her, that she was truly back. Idle hasn't been the same for me after she left. Maybe I'm a solo stan, but I enjoy their music well enough, but without Soojin there was an element to their music, their performances that lacked something pivotal for me. Soojin brought suck a sensual femininity to the group that no one else had. Her breathy vocals and her way of dancing truly was captivating. Even in songs like Uh Oh she still maintained that sensuality, but was able to bring some hardness to me......if that makes any sense. It was very clear she (and those around her) knew where he strengths were, and played to them beautifully. I really hope this comeback will do just that. Really hope she's doing well, and has some supportive people around her. It's so good to have her back.

There's a reason why you're my all time favorite reactor. One of the very first thoughts I had right after watching Soojin's gorgeous performance was about your reaction to it. I knew it wouldn't be late to come, because I know JUST how much you love her and how meaningful it is for you. When watching Soojin doing her thing I couldn't even cry, I was completely in pure awe and disbelief that this is actually happening (and a minute later jumping all around the apartment in excitement). But when I watched your reaction, the SECOND you started talking my eyes were immediately filled with tears. And then at 4:14 you totally broke me. The way you said "its Soojin, it's HER" really made the fact that she's returned sink in for me, and I just started crying uncontrollably. I always love watching your reactions, and I really needed it today too to complete the experience of realizing one of my favorite idols that I truly idolize (according to your own definition:3) is back. Thank you for your reaction! Soojin's performance in the video was outstanding. I was getting a little bit of a "Westworld" intro feeling from the music as well as the black and white style. I'm so happy for Soojin...it's hard to describe. I literally feared for her life knowing her world/dream was falling apart within a few weeks and years of work were more or less for nothing. This can lead to bad decisions. Everyone knowing about the dark side of the industry has seen this in the past (the last "event" was 6 month ago and related [double meaning] to that another great group is now temporary missing another member). I think being concerned and still pretty helpless was my state of mind for month when I though about her. Running into the remaining 5 (G)I-DLE members off-stage last year didn't really help. I had a lot to say but on the other hand I couldn't. Soojin wasn't the bias for me but via K/DA I first got into (G)I-DLE and other great groups that followed like e.g. Dreamcatcher, Purple Kiss, KARD, Everglow, aespa, etc after literally years of being bored by western mainstream music to the point I stopped listening to music at all. Everything that happened now almost 3 years ago was bad for everyone involved...nothing good came out of it. I'm 100% sure (G)I-DLE would have had the same success with all 6 members...but loyalty of the fans towards the group, despite the fact that probably most hate their company, was a prerequisite. Now Soojin get's all support I can give, which is not much beside positive comments and buying stuff. After her new Instagram account exploded overnight a few months ago (I've never seen anything like that before), it's clear to everyone that we still love and support her. Maybe that was also the first step by the new company to check out how the feedback will be before moving on with the contract...I wouldn't be surprised.

About the whole bias thing same for me. Except I took a long time to bias someone else but it was shuhua that ended up being my bias. I wasn’t surprised since she was my wrecker when soojin was there and she did get more active when soojin left line wise. Like in nxde that’s when she got me. I’m so happy soojin is back and going solo she’s going to be amazing. I do wish gidle could’ve been with her but it makes sense. Reminds me of monsta x and wonho.
