Hyoyeon promotes under both HYO and HYOYEON. HYO is her DJ name, so those are songs she co-produced and released to promote as a DJ. And if she releases songs that arent for her DJ career they go under HYOYEON. I dont know why her solo name isnt just HYO but she has 2 profiles on spotify: HYO (her DJ releases Sober, Dessert, Punk Right Now etc) and HYOYEON (her other releases Mystery, Wannabe and Good Girls' songs are also under that name)

sober is probably my favorite song by her , this is what hyoyeon said about the mv "The music video is about liberating girls who feel trapped, and tired of the norm. I wanted to express that they can get out there, rebel against social norms and show everyone who they’re really meant to be" sounds very Hyoyeon to me and i'm glad the song finally got more recognition

We all live for “Miss Terry”😂 Honestly Hyoyeon’s discography would do so well in countries like the US, SM should’ve debuted her over here. It’s obvious she isn’t getting the recognition she deserves in Korea. I’m also so glad that she’s finally sound her own sound/concept now that she’s doing solo stuff. SNSD was definitely geared towards more cute/girl crush concepts which didn’t showcase her dancing and rap at all (except for the few cases like Catch Me If You Can and You Think). That’s why although I’m praying with all my heart for an SNSD reunion comeback, I’m also completely enjoying the members’ solo stuff because it fits them so well. Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Hyoyeon all have completely different sounds now that they’ve been given freedom to release whatever they want. And everyone else is thriving doing their solo activities (Yoona, Seohyun, Sooyoung, and Yuri with their new/upcoming dramas and Sunny with her different broadcasts/shows/radio talk shows). SNSD as a group are legends but the members have all made a name for themselves in the industry from their solo careers. They’ve really come a long way. Edit: Yes, the reason for the “rated 19” notice is because of the amount of skin and tattoos shown in the video. Tattoos and skinship/exposed skin in general are still considered taboo in Korea.

instead how much tattoos and skinship, this song getting rated19 cause this song showing a lot of feminist things or normal woman can do, like having a short hair, tattoos, bigsized, colour people, cant have a freedom and must be a "standar girl". but in SK, there's a lot people who are anti feminist, and their getting bigger everytime. so, thats why, u can see a lot of dislikes in english vers.

Cmiiw, but snsd didn't debut with any official rapper position, they just happened to rap later on on their career when they had the song with rap part, and anyone pretty much would rap in snsd because there's no official position, like hyo, sooyoung, yuri, yoona, sunny and tiffany i believe they did at some point but it's true on their later career hyo did a lot of rap part when there's any in the song. That's why you often forget that she rap sometimes and mostly singing because it is what it is 😂 snsd songs itself didn't always have rap part in it because they're not a group with rapper to begin with. I love how flexible they are 😂

I think you knew "Miss Terry " from SNSD guide if I'm not mistaken 😅 Hyoyeon has an amazing husky voice and SM were sleeping on that. Fortunately when she started Djing they start to give her more chances to prove her self. San E was host to a unpretty rapstar and the unit he is well known rapper. Hope you will react to some SNSD live performance like karma butterfly, not alone, the great escape , Express 999, flyers , paradise , green light and forever ( their lives always better than the studio Ver)♥️

Sober is my favorite Hyo solo! For some reason the english version started pulling huge numbers last yr being the most watched soshi solo that isn't a recent release at one point (which is usually taeyeon's I by a good margin), and it's still going strong! no one seems to be able to pin point the source of the sudden increase on views (as it doesn't seem to be kpop fans since it's the eng version that blew up and sone just don't stream that hard ever), i like to believe it blew up on some undergound dj scene bc it's such a great song that is so deserving of this recognition

Sober is so good, like it's my best solo song by an SNSD member, the more you listen to it the more you're just more addicted! watching this I realized I haven't listened to the korean version for so long now cuz if the song sounds that good in Korean it just hits different in English! that's proably why the English version had almost 40M views this year and it blew up after 2 years of its release! actually all Hyoyeon songs who have English version hit different and are 10 times better than their Korean versions! but anyway.. this is just another reason why we need more songs like Sober from her!! You can also react to Think About Me! it's a bop! and what you should totally react to is her YOUNIQUE unit (it contains KAI, Taemin, Eunhyuk, Henry, Luhan and she's the only girl in the unit) they have a song called MAXSTEP, it's just a masterpiece!

San E was a popular rapper and MC'd several survival shows. Then a couple years ago he released a song 'feminist' that caused a huge controversy. He tried explaining himself, but it was pretty confusing. I ended up concluding he is either an offensive chauvinist who has deluded himself to thinking he isn't, or he's a confused idiot. Anyway, Sleeq, who you probably know now from GoodGirl, released a diss-rap in reply to him, called 'Equalist' which is totally amazing and I recommend looking up the lyrics.

For "Sober," I'm pretty sure these moments combined at 11:28 and 11:36 is why it's rated 19. I think the women undressing alone, given the setting, would be rated 15. But Korea really is this sensitive to queer or implied queer content, and I really believe even that was too strong an implication of two women kissing for mnet.
