The mistake alot of people are making is not putting the belt thru the belt path. It's should be labeled on the seat. Also pull the seat cloth up to find the path. The path is hidden and this is a terrible flaw but this method should prevent the wobble.

Bass this is so true. A lot of people are giving terrible reviews of this seat when they're just not using it right. You cannot install this seat rear facing through the forward facing belt path.. yes, it will tip over and won't be safe for your child if you do so. I have this seat and have gotten a solid rear facing install in 4 totally different vehicles with absolutely no pool noodles or towels. READ YOUR MANUAL.

Kimmie S on the seat it should have a red square that says. Rear facing belt path. Well I forgot what it's says lol but it's says belt path. You have to lift up the cushion to reveal the belt path. One you put it thru that belt path it should work

Kimmie, are you using the seatbelt to install? And when tightening the belt, are you pulling UP on the shoulder belt while it retracts back? If so, try pulling the lap belt tight by the buckle, then when that is tight enough, let the shoulder belt retract on its own into the retractor, not pulling on that end. Hope this helps 😊

Lol, I know this is old. But since I just saw this video because I ordered this for my daughter, I would like to let others know. The harness holders hold the belt straps, not the metal insert. You slip the belt strap into the holder. Seems super helpful! Can't wait to try out our seat :)

Jessica Dillon Vazquez the holders hold both the harness and the buckle. For smaller infants, the harness isn't long enough to put the straps over the holder, so placing the buckle into the slot does hold the harness out of the way. The OP is correct. It can be used both ways. I have this seat for my 7mo and read the manual where it shows the usage.

How do you loosen the straps? This is driving me crazy my little twins are too tight in their seats and can't figure out how to loosen them. Cant find any videos.

There is a little flap you have to stick your finger in and press down on while you pull on the strip.

Brian there's a little lever that you push down and pull straps at the same time to loosen them, it's close to their feet and hidden. But it really is simple.

Did you ever use this in booster mode? I changed our other car seat to booster today pretty easy (& it said to use the LATCH anchors & tether)….. I’m confused about this car seat though. It says no anchors or tether for booster I believe… so does the car seat just sit on the seat of the car & is only strapped down when the seatbelt is buckled over your kid?

Thank you for sharing the review. I have decided on the same car seat however got confused with mixed reviews on the toysrus. One of them mentioning about seat tipping over without firm base support. Is that true? Do you always need to put towel/cushion below this car seat? Have you the tried reclining option? We would like to have reclining car seat so that our kid can sleep peacefully and we dont need to worry about his head wobbling on sides.

+Vish I don't have anything under this seat and i never have any problems with it tipping. You just have to follow the steps and make sure you install it correctly. You can always go to a place like the fire station and have them check it out to make sure it's installed correctly. I haven't tried the reclining because my daughter is already forward facing.

Samantha Hanley Yes, they are deep. I use it for wide neck bottles, sippies, and snacks.

Yes, they are deep enough. My toddler uses them for sippies, 20 oz bottles, and regular cups from a drive thru. The only thing I don't like is that the bottom isn't flat, it is concave. I think this is so that the drips don't keep the bottom of the cup wet, but if the cup is too skinny it can tip to the side. Not enough for it to fall out, but enough that if it doesn't have a top it could spill.

When installed as front facing, does the seat recline??

The seat still has a slight recline even when in the highest upright position. Forward facing, you could, but unless the back of the seat your installing it on reclines as well it’d take up a whole lot of room. If not, the bottom of the seat would hang off when reclined. A child old enough to forward face shouldn’t need it to be reclined though.

absolutely HATE this car seat. in all of our cars I've never been able to get a solid install rear facing, it works fine forward facing. But even after tightening and locking the seat belt, the car seat could be pushed right over while in rearfacing mode!

Are you placing it on a fabric seat or leather? I know I have a harder time getting it tight when I move it to my husbands truck. In my car with fabric seats, I have no trouble getting it tight. That being said the only one I can easily put in my husband truck is our Britax click tight.

I hate this seat and it will not be the only seat I will ever need. For reference I have an almost two year old and he’s already almost outgrown it. Would not recommend u can get so much more for ur money, and the recline sucks it’s almost impossible to install FF and wide rear

Yes, it does recline, there is quite a bit of padding so their head should move around too much but their head will be safe just make sure you do not add any extra off the market padding because that will make it unsafe.

This car seat sucks!!! Like the look but it moves like crazy. We were going around a bend and not even driving fast and my 1 year old started screaming and we looked in backseat and she was sideways laying. I checked reviews and many say the same thing. It's crazy. I have watched and read so many videos on how to install and I know I am doing everything right so why is it still moving so much, this can not be safe.

The instruction manual for the car seat suggests if you cannot get it in the correct level position to use a pool noodle or a rolled up towel under the front of the base. It is safe.

This car seat, despite it's moderate range price, is very cheaply made and difficult to use. After six months, the strap mechanism has completely broken and the straps are now stuck. Pieces that cover up the hardware have also ripped off or come loose, despite no real wear and tear, another reason we've found it so cheap. When we contacted Safety 1st to file a claim under the 1 year warranty we were treated as if we just didn't know how to use a car seat, and were told we would need to send in video of us demonstrating the problem to move on with the warranty process. Ridiculous. I would not recommend this seat of Safety 1st to anyone.

I am sorry you have had this problem. Have you tried the Britax's Click Tight car seats? That is the car seats I use in my car now and I have no troubles using that one.
