Do substations also deliver electric? I see transformers at substations connecting with it.

Hi. To answer your question, Substations do deliver electricity. The grid has junction points called transmission substations, Sub-transmission substations, distribution substations and switch yards. Substations different from switchyards because they contain transformers and which step up or step down the incoming voltage. Switchyards contain switches only that route the high voltage energy from one switchyard to the next switchyard or to then substation. Hope that helped.
