I feel like Safi (despite how amazing his themes are) people for some reason can't compile them correctly let alone at all, some have butchered quality, others have normal, target and mount themes all mixed because they recorded mid gameplay, not to mention people who include some parts and leave out others, you on the other hand compiled everything in a nice medley with high quality and for that I thank you.

Dont forget the people that leave in the Audio clip from the Falling Star attack and it tends to be extrmely loud and appear outbof nowhere so you get semi-jumpscared

In a way it's kind of genius. Xeno was so bizarre and unexpected, and everyone expected the adult form to be even weirder. Ironically, the most unexpected and weird Safi could be was a completely normal dragon.

And if you think about it, to the humans of Monster Hunter, to whom strange monsters like Khezu and Brachydios are the norm (and on a meta level, the Japanese devs of Capcom who likely view the Eastern dragon as the "normal" dragon) a standard European dragon probably does look incredibly strange and alien. The only other example is Fatalis, whose existence is explicitly kept secret.

Monster Hunter World had the perfect lifespan. There was not a moment during the campaign, my grinds, or the near infinite rescue missions I endured that didn't leave me feeling something new, or at least completely awestruck. Safi'Jhiva, Shara Ishvalda and Fatalis turned an already perfect experience into a once in a lifetime experience.

He's probably one of my favorite Elder Dragons ever. I love the fight, the music and his design. Sure, he looks more like a regular dragon than Xeno, but that's exactly why I think he's amazing. The targeting mechanic makes the fight so intense, it's insane and using elemental lbg against his wing arms makes you almost a guaranteed target every time. Good times.

I love hearing the “proof of a hero” segments for both the normal and target themes. It makes me feel as if the hunter(s) are feeling powerless and losing hope when fighting safi(even more so when getting targeted) but when a bit of proof of a hero plays, I like to think the vocals are members of the guild cheering the hunters on, filling them with hope, confidence, and determination. I dunno about y’all, but that’s what I like to think when this segment comes to mind.

A bit late ere' for me but I think what also makes me love this is the fact Safi is borderline a monster in the same mythological category as Alatreon or Fatalis, if not actually. Safi'jiivah is terrifying lore wise - you don't just have a Black Dragon notorious for being a introverted being that prefers its isolation going out of its way to raze all evidence of your being. A battle between Safi and Alatreon would be catastrophic.

I don't believe he has any evil intents. If you also take in account that you only fight Alatreon through out the franchise in areas that are completely void of any humans let alone any other life.

That was the original intention, and Alatreon was meant to be the explanation for Safi'jiiva's ecological standing, of how these two species are in a planetary Turf War. But then fan demand came in and they added Fatalis anyways lol.

The final theme is one of the best themes I've ever heard. The normal theme, the target theme and the mount theme don't cover each other, they just go in perfect sync. Once you get to that point, you know Safi'jiiva really ain't holding back anymore. It's not a hunt, it's a fight to the death against one of the most powerful dragons the Commission has ever faced. I absolutely hate Safi's fight, but the atmosphere and emotions are incredibles.

Very nice. Finding the final phase + target is already kinda difficult, so to have basically everything in one is nice. The combination of the target effects in the final phase is pretty intense when paired with a giant angry dragon trying to delete you.

Can't believe I've only found this now because dang what an amazing medley, one of your best yet. Hearing the medley while reading about all the considerations that you've made really elevates the experience. It also gives a small taste on the sheer passion and dedication that the MonHun team had when they were creating Safi's theme (as well as the whole game by extension). It hasn't been that long since Safi dropped and Fatalis was released, but I still feel a slightly nostalgic of MHW:I, especially while hearing that small Proof of a Hero in Safi's theme. See, soloing fatalis is a burst fight for simple terms. 20 minutes, you and the dragon and only the perfect setup and mindset can carry you through that solo battle. SAFI OVER HERE DESPITE WHAT YOU BRING IS AN ENTIRE ENDURANCE BATTLE AGAINST A BUILDING SIZED MONSTER *THAT CAN HEAL*. safe to say, fighting Safi and there on soloing him feels like a true battle through and through. Just my take, but Safi's fight is a journey every single time, therefore much more memorable to me. Alongside an entirely different test of character.

Yeah the transition between the songs are actually seamless in-game, so much that I actually believe they made 4 versions (perhaps more) and run them in parallel throughout the fight, they just transition between them depending on the state of your hunter and the current stage. Then again I mostly believe I am wrong.

Safi'jivva is pretty new to being an elder dragon. I bet given enough time to properly discover his true potential, he could be even more powerful than Fatalis. Thats what scares me, the fact that this thing could have become more powerful than the most feared monster there is.

if you observe safi's design for a while you would notice that all of his limbs and spikes end in black, almost as if he isn't fully grown. So from listening to this and other rips of the target theme, I've noticed that the target part actually runs SEPERATE from the main theme and just drowns it out. It seems like it's two tracks playing at the same time.

It's because the game syncs the addon tracks from the first part of the main theme. And since I had to loop the main theme and extended it - it isn't possible to sync it back up. Interesting that you noticed, was pretty weird to work on. Basically the addon tracks are supposed to line up with the start of the main chanting. Which I still did, but on a looped part of the track. Music is weird, the beat for that is the only thing that annoyed me, because I couldn't do anything about it. Not without starting the main theme again, which was not smooth no matter how I integrated it as a loop.

One curiosity, in the iceborne lore book it states that safi reproduces by his Saphire of the emperror, so yeah its not only 1 of the 2 ultimate moves that oneshotes you but its also the world's strongest orgasm

I needed a lot of wings for the armor, but sadly I am no gunner, the most experience I have with ranged weapons was in 4U in the arena quests (yeah those were tough so I was adept with bow in 4U), but I had not touched bow in world, so I just went, practiced some combos, tried some armors and decos, and returned to smash some wings. Now I do not understand bowguns but I know bow in world, at least enough to consistently smash both wings in 1st and 2nd phase.
