People should not be preoccupied with when the Mahdi will arrive. Of course we're all waiting for his arrival, but we have to do our own bit, because we may or may not see him. Also, the scholars say one should not ask Allah to lengthen his life until he meets the Mahdi simply because the trials and tribulations - and we're talking about the minor signs will be so bad you could be in very real danger of renouncing Islam. And if the minor signs are this bad, one can never imagine how bad the major signs would be.

Shaykh Abdel Karim Yahya is from the real Sunnis. Those Ulamas from Ahl Al Sunna who, for the last 1000 years old, represented 99.9% of the Ummah before the sectarians group calling themselves "Salafis" appeared. The movement who called themselves "Salafis" that appeared in Saudi Arabia some 300 years ago are a sect that are not considers Salafis by the rest of the Sunnis. The real Salafis, The real Sunnis, are those who called themselves Sunnis from Morocco to China from the last 1000 years old. They are represented by the great Scholars the like of Imam Al Ghazali, Al.Suyuti, Al Nawawi, Al-Razi, Al-Qurtubi, etc....Which all contradicts the "Saudi Salafis" that sunnis called "Wahhabis".

Because in the western world modernism is defined as a dissolution and dissolve in and watering down of traditional forms of faith and a movement towards secularism in politics and in ethics. And I had this is a very popular interpretation of what modernism means in Islam too perhaps we have borrowed the term and it’s connotations? Because of this we also seem to reject any attempt to keep up-to-date with modernity in its positive and powerful and empowering capacity. There is no strength, no might from other than Allah, and truth and knowledge are beneficial and empowering and human attempts at truth if they are grounded in cogent reasoning and appropriate methods for instance chemical laboratories for chemists and computer technology for software engineers, rather than vice versa, there will be fruits which are palatable and useful. But because of the prevalent attitude towards modernism and its connotation which is valid people are led to believe that all aspects of fusing technology and modern scientific insight with our faith are if not blasphemous then foolish. In fact, some of the great “jihadists” seem to come from the ultra orthodox traditional movement and they rely on ancient texts alone and ancient method alone when it comes to interpreting and understanding the religion and forming a Muslim society. This is regarded by many of the youth as a major sign of anti-establishment values and therefore a sign that God is on the side of these revolutionaries. The Revolutionary spirit against the modern world and its values. But in fact, America has promoted salafism and ultra orthodox traditional Islam, which forever wants against the very things which could empower and signify progress in the Muslim community . I add and reiterate that this progress is not innovation in religion. It is in fact highly religious to use beneficial knowledge and highly religious to utilise tools which are appropriate for the job. However, nobody seems to promote anything but ultra orthodox traditionalism and we even glorify old sushi books on cosmology whilst demoting the likes of modern cosmology as irrelevant, but we pay a heavy price. Also, when it comes to evolution because it contradicts some aspects of faith, we throw it out entirely rather than having a more nuanced and subtle approach to this aspect of the modern sciences. There are computer programs which rely on evolutionary formula and they are useful in mathematical analysis and in things like evolutionary algorithm learning in drones and robots as far as I know. Without allowing science to progress Muslims on the other hand have in their hands phones made in Japan or China and these are based in the logic and technologies which have been developed in the Westworld and which they implicitly poor shame upon themselves by declaring as stupid kaffir who have no insight. The term unbeliever implies a covering, but there is a covering on the actual empirical methodology and the rational intellect in the contemporary Muslim world to a large degree and this is somewhat imposed by the remnant of imperialist powers but what excuse is there when you can be lectured by a simple person like me? Surely it is time for Muslims to step up to the plate and accept that simply talking about scholars from 1000 years ago and glorifying the Muslim sciences because we have the scrapbook and remnant of an optician from way back when et cetera, if we accept that this is inadequate in the face of modern challenges and actually embarrassing ourselves when it comestibles cultural esteem. It is like saying that the Muslims invented the Flintstone therefore we can ignore the more sophisticated forms of heating our breakfast and not only do we do that but it will win us every flaming war. We have no excuse for this regressive attitude and I hopefully stand on the forefront and vanguard of people who will stop copycatting the Osama bin Laden style Salafi hopefuls who although they rely on some good tenets they are far too out of touch with what is required and what is appropriate and what is fitting and therefore what belongs to the straight path

As Marx said religion is opium of the people. It is true not that religion is absolutely false but that we are continually using scripture and abstractions to justify false or what is likely false hope from the scientific perspective. Because we are institutionally unscientific not only in terms of military power but in terms of interpretation of religion and by being institutionally retrospective when it comes to understanding most of the faith, we lose out on inspiring our intellectuals and intelligence community with the beauties of science and instead simply complain about evolution or Simply complain about how the powers of unbelief can overcomes when they are only scientific et cetera. We have a backwards perspective which leads us to be technologically dependent on outside agencies and not only do we see this as a virtue we see it as a sign that we have remained in touch with reality. Therefore, I recommend not only Quran and Hadith studies. But also science books and spiritua interpretation with a soft heart to the modern world. Instead of turning the youth away from artificial intelligence or evolutionary computing or even simple sporting activities and regarding piety as a bookish and dry affair involving only prayer and withdrawal from everyday life I would hope that the scholars could learn the lessons of history and instead of bringing up a set of Good lads - which is true - also I’m pragmatically with a little scientific and technological nous. We do not have to have black-and-white thinking in this regard and regard evolution as 100% false we can use fuzzy logic and constructivist philosophy of science and regard theories not as absolute truth but as human attempts to construct models of reality which are useful but not equal to revealed religion however they should not be discarded either simply because they are not 100% perfect. But that seems to be our methodology and we simply rely on ancient scriptures and this fake piety is in itself unIslamic as far as I know. Piety involves doing what is straight proper correct and fitting and this is the meaning of the straight path. It is not simply external and obvious religion but also having insight into what is proper when it comes to the study of nature and what is correct when it comes to the study of logic mathematics and philosophy of science et cetera they are correct and appropriate methodologies for manipulating the material world and understanding it as human beings using human reasoning. Neglecting human reasoning is a major fault in people of many faith. Simply because they have scripture they believe in it seems they also reject secular and more rationalised modes of understanding however they do seem to rely on counting and arithmetic which is at least useful at the shops although not the most glorious of the sciences or the most powerful. If you think that the sciences are redundant simply because we have a revealed book then that seems to betray an over idealised and naive concept of what Islam is meant to be. Because the traditions warn against innovation it seems like it is justified to completely reject all modern understanding and methodologies but we use smart phones and these rely on quantum mechanics and relativity and we use artificial intelligence and these use modern non-standard logic but if you ask the average Muslim teacher about logic or quantum mechanics or rel reality there will be baffled and say I’m a Muslim I don’t need to know this kind of thing and This naivety is not only an unusual trait, but it seems to be widespread and not even institutionalised but actually institutionally glorified as the great path of victory. I feel this attitude needs to be condemned and warned against severely. not only does it lead to defeat in battle and expectations but it also leads to a brand of Islam which people tend to disrespect and hate and regard properly and appropriately as a threat to legitimate technological and social advance and therefore is it to any wonder that they want to kill us?

Mahdi obsession is from the Shia. Ibn Khaldun and Muhammad Iqbal did not consider Mahdiism to be part of belief. The premise of the industry advocating final days by ulema is meant to create despair and depression amongst the Muslims. Mahdi is not in the Qur’an and after the arrival of the final Prophet (saww) and the Qur’an what is the need? The Hour is only known to Allah, not humans, not angels. Only Him. It is Allah’s responsibility and He will fulfill it when it pleases Him. Hunans should fulfill their own responsibilities. They will not be asked if they coukd foretell the final days. The Prophet (saww) advice was to continue to plant the date palm seedling even if the Hour was upon the Believer.
