It was narrated that Ubayy ibn Ka‘b (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This hadith was narrated by at-Tirmidhi (2457) I said: O Messenger of Allah, I send a great deal of blessings upon you; how much of my du‘aa’ should be sending blessings upon you? He said: “Whatever you wish.” I said: One quarter? He said: “Whatever you wish, and if you do more, that will be better for you.” I said: One half? He said: “Whatever you wish and if you do more, that will be better for you.” I said: Two thirds? He said: “Whatever you wish and if you do more, that will be better for you.” I said: I will make all of my du‘aa’ for you. *He said: “Then your concerns will be taken care of and your sins will be forgiven.”*

Can you also do an episode about the benefits of doing lots of istighfar daily? I've heard of people who do upwards of 30K a day and they get all their duas answered. There are so many dua/dhikr people recommend but it's tough to actually know which ones to focus on :/ JAK

Salawat is better. My sheikh said Allah forgives you 10 times when you make salawat. Make sure to continue making Istaghfar for specific sins though, but salawat is better than Dhikr and istaghfar

I heard a shaykh something like "Salawat is like perfume, istighfar is for dirt, so better to clean up before you put on perfume". Allah knows best.
