Credit to the Studio Tomahawk team, they didn't misspell the name of their Irish champions-- they used the correct Irish plural (Curaidh) and singular (Curadh) forms.

from what I researched, Curaidh is pronounced something like "kju-Ree" I'm not too sure as Irish is a difficult language

The first syllable. As in queue and the second is as Reed without the "d"

The u in Curaidh is short, so it comes out a bit like "cuh-Ree" kinda like "curry" but with more emphasis on the final syllable. There's no accent on the "u" like in Cú so the vowel is short, and there's no "j" or "y" sound-- that would usually be marked by a silent "e" or "i". That said, part of the reason for this confusion is that I've encountered a lot of dialectical variation in Irish so it's possible that there's some native speakers who'd pronounce it as you're describing. If you're interested in an example, the website "teanglann" is a good resource though you'll only get the singular "curadh" (pronounced "cuh-Ruh").
