Ah yes ! My favourite saga tactica is back. Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot to get into the game.

@@jeromekammerer4733 Thanks a lot! We have less of a gap on the Podcasts (iTunes, Spotify etc), mostly because loading them on KZbin is a pain!

I'm a very experienced board wargamer but since I've moved to a new area a couple years ago I've started playing Saga and played maybe 30-50 games. quite a few of those games have been against a friend at my local club (in Telgruc-sur-mer in Brittany) who usually plays Jomsvikings. I've played against them as Welsh, Huns, Russian Princes, Spanish and Carolingians and I'm probably forgetting another faction or two (possibly the Last Romans). They are very frightening but I don't think they're that strong. Let me explain. When you set up your game, you also form a plan. A plan that hopefully _does_ survive contact with the ennemy, or at least allows for it. Facing the Jomsvikings, you are the one who choses whether they get to use their abilities or get wrath tokens, so you can chose the option that is least detrimental to _your_ plan. They, on the other side, never know whether they will be able to use their abilities, or have to use their wrath-based abilities instead. So it's a lot harder for them to have a plan and execute it. Because of this, I think they are the hardest faction to play in all of Saga ages. I have yet to play them though and that could change my mind

@@jean-louisbeaufils5699 I think we discussed this at the end of the episode (but it’s been a few months since recording). This is the key weakness of the board, however the good players will know how to make the short-term giving of wrath preferable to taking significant damage.

There's a local guy here in Christchurch that runs six points of warriors, EVERYTHING with Dane Axes. He's real hard to play against. Hasn't pulled out his Jomsviking in a while though

@@marangatu3688 Respect the commitment to aggression from this guy. Guess it is high risk high reward play.
