▼About the Sagami Kokufu Festival
Kokufu Matsuri is a festival where six shrines in Sagami gather and is designated as an intangible folk cultural asset of Kanagawa Prefecture.
It is said to have originated more than 1000 years ago, when provincial and county systems were established in the provinces, and the administrative head and provincial governor of Sagami Province prayed to the gods for peace and good harvests in Sagami.
At Kamoroiyama, the ritual of Za Mondo (seated dialogue) is held, which is a ritualized version of the controversy surrounding the establishment of Sagami Province, and at Oyaba (now Baba Park), the Kokushi Festival and three kinds of dancing are offered.
