Here's a basic homemade cerelac recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice
- 1/2 cup split yellow moong dal, moosur dal
-1/4 cup peanuts
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 1/4 cup cashews
Instructions:
1. Wash the rice and dal thoroughly.
2. Roast the rice and moong dal in a pan until they turn golden and emit a pleasant aroma. Ensure they don't brown too much.
3. Allow the roasted mixture to cool completely.
4. Grind the almonds and cashews into a fine powder.
5. Grind the cooled rice and dal mixture into a powder.
6. Mix the powdered almonds, cashews, and the rice-moong dal powder together.
To prepare cerelac:
1. Take a small portion of the cerelac mix.
2. Mix it with water or milk in a pan.
3. Cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until it reaches a porridge-like consistency.
You can sweeten it with a natural sweetener like mashed banana or a bit of jaggery if desired. Adjust the consistency by adding more or less liquid according to your preference.
