If the answer is in the cause of Allah and not much on myself except for necessity then yeah "chase" it but make sure you are not doing it on the behalf of compromise your Deen. Career is like Tejarat (trading) it has it's place but it's not the purpose. Stay connected with the book of Allah, indeed in it there's guidance.

Asalaamualaikum Brother, Islam is religion and Quran is from Allah and it is guidance from Allah and prophet Muhammad is final prophet, Peace be upon him. Prophet Muhammad’s life is practical example how to live by Quran. Guidance of any individual is with Allah but we as individual need to give our best to learn and obey commandments of Allah. We need to open Quran and ponder on its verse and understand and implement its commandments. Quran is not difficult but some so called maulana have spread that it is difficult to understand but actually it is guidance from Allah and if anyone wants to study Quran let him or her study Quran using Tafsir ibn Kathir
