Actually 90% of influencers are more of a negative impact then being positive...for eg: i see so many of these fashion influencers promoting fast fashion and churning out fashion looks on a daily basis which influences the followers to buy way more than clothes than required. We are dealing with a huge climate crisis because on an average the fast fashion is worn for a very short time and discarded unlike in older days where hardly 10 articles were purchased in a year...whereas now people buy 10-15 articles in a matter of 2-3 months. Very few influencers consciously showcase how to reuse your clothes and promote brands that are sustainable.
@hungryladka99093 жыл бұрын
Agreed about what you are saying about the impact of fast fashion on environment but how is an influencer be responsible for it no influencer ever said anyone to buy more than they should they just promote it people like it that's why people buy it... no one is buying anything just because some one is promoting it the are buying it just because it like it... no one is forced to buy it's just the choice... So the responsibility is of the people who are buying and most importantly the companies who are producing because if someone is promoting something that means it's already produced... if they stop production then no such problem would come... but that's not possible because it's the high production that's responsible for cheap prices if they produce limited then cost of production will increase and price would hit up and someone not so well off would not be able to buy it... you cannot have a win win scenario...
@thejaswipericharla9253 жыл бұрын
@@hungryladka9909 you are right. I'm not saying they are the only problem. But they are a part of the problem. But because of high consumerism even the companies produce so much. The biggest problem definitely are the fast fashion brands.I'm also of the opinion that we can either be the problem or the solution. Why can't we look at other solutions wherein we learn to normalize second hand clothes. So that we can create rotation. Again, I would love to see influencers atleast acknowledge and tell their followers and educate them about shopping.

@@thejaswipericharla925 @Hungry ladka - Love this discussion. So, as someone who studies the impact of communication and persuasion on behaviour and decision-making, I can tell you that you are both right. Influencers are essentially persuasive communicators. So yes, their viewers are not forced to buy a product but the fact that a particular influencer is promoting it *definitely* persuades some people to make those purchases. Through the decision and supply chain, responsibility lies with everyone for ensuring that fast fashion's impact on the environment & on human rights is acknowledged publicly, and this information is made available with other promotional material for consumers to make an informed decision. The long and short of it is that yes, consumers need to think critically about the impact of our actions but there is so much information overload and so many echo chambers that it's hard for people to know this information. But influencers sure as hell are responsible for ensuring they represent ethical products and brands if they're persuading people and using strategic communication to "influence" behavior. They should also provide and publicly address either the impact or carbon footprint of the product or offer people an alternative to maintaining a low carbon footprint while still being able to use that product (like by highlighting an additional step or a product exchange etc.)

So basically you make a podcast to praise yourself. You've worked in Deloitte and Citibank. You haven't worked in a factory with noise & air pollution with shitty old collegue uncles. So, hypocrisy is everywhere. All respect for you guys is gone. And there's nothing like 9 to 5. You gotta travel for an hour, do job for minimum 9 hours and again travel for an hour to reach home. So 8 to 7. We're not even talking about salary here.

Hi Sahil, I really enjoyed this stream because I could relate to a lot of points especially about becoming a content creator. I have had similar experiences because after experiencing the corporate routine I decided to become a content creator 4 months ago. It's a hard job because there is no switch off button as there is always something I could do to create more. But I wouldn't trade it for 9-5 because my biggest desire is to have control of my own time, and this job allows me to do so. Plus the appreciation is very rewarding in itself. I think all of us content creators should focus being able to compartmentalize working hours in the day, learn to switch off after that, this way we can enjoy the best of both worlds! Cheers and best wishes to you sahil and all the content creators out there! ❤️

Dude, a government teacher makes 90000 a month, that's not a paltry sum. They're well paid but don't do their jobs properly, that's why most govt schools are lagging behind. There are some tremendous teachers as well who don't take their job for granted but still they need to be better trained.

If you want to live a freelance kind of life in a 9-5 job, you should get into research. :) Feeling so privileged to say this, but it's true!
I think Rahul should be doing the opposite; if you're going to a poorly run establishment, chances are that the management procures most of the money from your bill and the staff is underpaid (the opposite would be true for good hotels)

Sahil has a very big issue. If something doesn't match his viewpoint, he make it feel like shit! Here also, he doesn't understand Sahil Khan (I don't even know he is), he starts to punch down. Same happened in the Love stream with Tanmay and Kusha. He doesn't get arrange marriage, so he starts to punch down. There's a reason, Sahil has to apologise for his jokes and these streams shows why.

Thank you so so so much for your insight! Once in a while I tend to give an opinion and try to dig and get jokes out of it. I'm sorry if it does come off as punching down or rude (hahaha here's me apologizing again) but that's not the intention. I look at this conversation as just three idiots joking about things but not necessarily trying to punch down/humiliate and if it does come across as that in a few episodes then that's not the intention! Will try to be better :) Thanks for watching!
