@@theskipper7305 White Glint's weapons are much better for dueling than they are for taking out Arms Forts, IIRC. From experience, the ARs take forever to destroy its weapons systems and the scatter missiles seem to hit every except where you want them to. Sure, Motherwill is kinda piss easy regardless of what you bring, but that's more of a gameplay vs story thing.

@@theskipper7305 White Glint is built for AC vs AC combat, with its extreme speed and maneuverability. They were also not aware of Mother’s Will’s weakness at the time. Maybe the pilot would have had an easier time with that info so he could modify White Glint accordingly.

@@theskipper7305 Yeah I think it’s just that White Glint was more a threat in the sense of “Anyone we send to attack Line Ark will be sent back in a body bag” more than “White Glint will single handedly destroy all of our greatest weapons.” Anatolia’s Mercenary was scary because he created a stalemate regarding ground forces and any pilots a faction could conceivably send to contest Line Ark, but being just a single pilot also meant he wasn’t able to go on the offensive super often, nor could he single handedly tear down the heaviest fortifications on the enemy side, especially with Line Arks incredibly limited resources. Methinks Fiona and Thinker spent many nights with Line Ark eating ramen and Kraft dinner if you catch my drift.

@@theskipper7305 If I recall correctly from the art book, White Glint had to retreat from the fight due to ammunition issues, though Glint's fight is the reason Serene knew that targeting Motherwill's weapon systems (primarily the big guns) would cause it to overheat and collapse.

I love how the white glint is the most iconic mech from this series, and this cutscene which was like the one thing someone who never played the game probably saw about the whole franchise is three minutes of it wasting a booster the size of a building only to fuck up its mission seconds after arriving to the zone of operation

But I watch cutscenes about him and I think he was handled badly I mean the poster mech not even being the main character really made me dislike whit glint because it was lost potential. every trailer, AC, and many other features take some reference from the previous AC series (even more so redesigning the AC) Take for example: in AC6, when the main AC position lands on the ground with a small smoke around it, taking a reference from Zinaida from the AC Last Raven series, where Zinaida lost in the exact same position as I explained earlier.

The cutscene takes place when mother will first rolled out, they hired white glint to test mother will, it had it's full complement of trooper and was fully maintained. They fought to a stand still and white glint ran out of both ammo and fuel, surrounded by normals and MTs he activated assault armor and retreated, thus BFF deemed it a success.

I liked V, and Verdict Day was a good update from it, but the shift from 4 and 4A was EXTREMELY massive and jarring so I definitely can't blame people not liking them. I just wish From would take a break from Souls and give us more AC goodness.
