They really nerfed Deidara and Sasori. They went from being able to fight the whole Sand Village to struggling against KANKURO and SAI. Lol.

Edo tensei doesn’t bring them back as strong; sasori was human when reanimated, so he didn’t have his mechanical body thus couldn’t summon his army of puppets; and deidara just made bad calls in the fight as he mentions himself. Y’all act like kankuro and sai can’t be strong ..

Actually both of them need preparation to show full potential. Sasori needs puppets and Deidara needs enough clay. And in this scenario, they didn't have chance to do so.

Thing is, his own pride prevents it unless Kabuto overwrites his will and does it manually Deidera says it himself before he decides “fuck it” and is about to use it until Omoi stabbed him with lighting style, stopping him

The Akatsuki members are so powerful because they have such unique abilities. Once you uncover it, they all but the top 4 are manageable. Sasori depends on puppets and poison. Sakura have the antidote for it and Chiyo had better puppets. In the war, Sasori don’t even had his puppets. Deidara can infunde his chakra into clay to make it explode. But it requires time and preparation, that he doesn’t have in the war. Also, his technique is weak against Raiton. Hidan is just someone with a really good Taijutsu. If someone knows about his technique and have someway to suppress and fight long range, he is pretty weak. Any Aburame could deal it it. Kakuzo five hearts is more complicated, cause he have good taijutsu, long range attacks and etc The top 4 of Akatsuki are the ones extremely hard to deal with. How you deal with Kisame? Or Itachi? Or Nagato? Or Obito? Just gifted and powerful ninja as they are can manage this kind of battle

I mean. You can’t properly face Kisame with Taijutsu: Samehada Will eat you up. You can’t fight using ninjutsu, cause this only makes him stronger. Powerful genjutsu are the only way to deal with him (cause Samehada also has the propriety to free his user from genjutsu, like a bijuu), unless you are Maito Guy. You can’t properly face Obito and his Kamui, unless you have super high mobility and reflexes like Minato or Naruto. Nagato is another monster. The six paths was only destroyed because Jiraiya sacrificed himself to pass the knowledge. Sage mode and Kurama went rampage to try touch him. After in the war, the power of two bijuu and Itachi was the only thing that could face him. And Itachi… the most powerful genjutsu user of the serie also have amazing taijutsu and ninjutsu capabilities. But all fades in front of his abnormal intelligence and analysis of the enemies he faces. And also, he is the only one in the series with the Totsuka Blade (capable of sealing ANYONE) and the Yata Mirror (capable of reflect and nullify all techiniques).
