About 20 years ago I nearly shit myself with excitement, it was because I opened a small Christmas gift that contained one of the most fulfilling creations ever made, crammed into a small plastic cartage. When I saw this game, I knew I had been blessed, and I thank my parents to this day, for giving their little boy the one thing that all children should obtain at some point in their life--Donkey Kong Country 2. Unlike the games now days, this game was a true artistic masterpiece and much much more than just a few hours of entertainment. I know it sounds ridiculous to those who didn't grow up with this game parked in the super Nintendo, with best friend sitting beside--waiting for you to die or switch him/her over-- while the smell of mom cooking and the cool night breeze through the open window, meet together and make you wish the night would never end. Even 20 years ago I knew this game was something special--it just made my heart feel warm and at home. I still look at this game now and I just feel warm, safe, and not bothered by the many troubles I now face in life. It takes me back to a time when everything was much more simpler, when the future was not so scary.

This game was so magical,I can not help but shed a tear.I never felt good like this in any games...You know,we grew up,our brains evolved, and ultimately grow our expectation, were lost in the details rather than the essentials. Now my heart bleeds everytimes I see or think of these images.I dont have a snes anymore(and I bitterly regret),but still have this cartridge and I ever will,it occupies a important place in my heart.

+Steve Normandin Yeah man. You literally said everything on how I felt. Before going through a lot of bad times in my life, I always enjoyed being a kid playing this game as well as other titles. Back when we didn't have to worry about things and life itself. But as we grow older, we cherish those memories and when we see or hear something from our childhood, we can't help but feel nostalgic and we either laugh happily or cry. Its a wonderful feeling. Just shows that inside we are still kids

I remember getting this right before Christmas of 95 if i remeber correctly but that year was especially sad since i was starting to be a rebelious kid with me not wanting to spend time with my family. So they all decided to go to my grandparents and spend the holidays there but not me, they lived in another state so i thought it was boring to go there and just wanted to be left alone. They spent an entire month there so it was just the snes and me at home with the occasional visit from an aunt who checked in on me. It was a very lonely Christmas but back then i thought i enjoyed it. Now my grandparents are not here anymore. I regret not going with my family back then, but aside from that the game is awesome and a great source for reliving your childhood.

My god! This game is a fucking CLASSIC! This is my most favorite game on SNES and the best of the DKC series. DKC1 was boring, DKC3 was very peaceful, tranquil and relaxing to play, but DKC2 was the hardest but most exciting and fun out of all the games. Even the music that played during the level selection was perfect and made me nervous to play the next level. Man, I remember having such a hard time with many levels. Some off the top of my head are: castle crush, toxic tower, the one where you play as the parrot racing the other parrot. I'm sure i'll remember others once i watch the whole video. Just hearing that Rare intro gives me goosebumps and takes me back to the days when i didnt have a care in the world. A truly great game and I will cherish the many fond memories it brings back. Best games ever, been playing video games singe pong in the 70s,even though some games can really piss you off, video games are a great stress reliever, most people think that when you reach a certain age "you shouldn't be playing video games anymore" or "video games are only for kids" big mistake, they are great for teaching hand and eye coordination and again they are a great stress vent, for some reason i didn't play DK3 back in the day, just 1 and 2, no idea why,so awhile back i i went back and played 3,fantastic game and whoever says they are not difficult is a straight up liar, lol ,they are a absolute riot and much fun buy the can be very challenging in some levels, some folks compare them to the Mario games,in terms of difficulty there is no comparison,Mario is much easier except for maybe the lost levels or some of the newer ones, thank you for the great video, love to watch others play.

This masterpiece just got released for the Nintendo Switch! Me & my friend played online for hours until my eyes teared up because of my dry contact lenses. I continued to play w/ myself until 5:00 a.m. It’s still a lot of fun playing a game that I used to play so much as a kid 20+ years ago. It’s one of the best games ever!

@T. J. Williams Donkey Kong himself was captured by King K.Rool, in retaliation of what he and his nephew/sidekick Diddy did by protecting their island. Now, in this game, it's up to Diddy and his girlfriend Dixie to rescue the King of the Jungle from K.Rool's own island.

Krem Quay stage 1 love that song. Love the entire game from the platforming, visual animation, music, it literally took everything from the original DK game and made it better.

I didn't want to spend too much time doing this or that...I know I missed out on the KONG letters, but I do find all the bonus stages and complete the game 100% more or less... If I took my time getting everything, the video might have been a bit long :P
