Thank you. We will keep making them. The only time reviewing the film could count is if there was a protest and video was available on site or if a boat was heavily damaged and you were finding fault for someone would have to pay to get it fixed.

Boats do not have a left and right side, because left and right are relative terms (it depends which way you are facing). Boats have a port and starboard side, because that is defined by the boat. The tack a boat is on is originally defined by the side the wind is coming from when the boat is on a stable course. Snippy I know, but we need to keep using our in group jargon or anyone might know what we were doing!

We are teaching new sailors with this video, so references to right and left may be made at times, but the other terms are also used. The pros already know these things by heart. There is a learning curve for new racers.

I don't understand the overlapped rule at all..was it in relation to the tack at the buoy?

Overlap is when any part of your boat is next to the other boat as you get within 4 boat lengths of the mark. Basically, the outside boat(s) have to give room to the inside boat(s). The port-starboard rules still are in effect. Be careful though... the up wind (windward) and down wind (leaward) marks have different rules regarding rights at the mark. That's a little more complicated. I hope this helps.

Please don't misinform sailors. Port is when the sails are in the leeft side of the boat. That is the boat with the right of way. You switched port and starboard. Pls correct this otherwise you teach the wrong habits to beginners.
