I thoroughly enjoyed this video, especially since I have the identical boat, as you know. The exposure of your rudder problem helps me to understand how my rudder is constructed. Thankfully it doesn't have any issues; I thoroughly inspected it last March during my haulout. If you watched my haulout video then you know I had a gang of bad blisters, which I repaired myself. Like your hull issues, most of mine were from the mid section aft. As for my anchor windlass control box, it's located just forward of the forward head, next to the holding tank. The foot buttoms started giving me a problem and when I began removing them, I learned they were phnumatically operated with a small pressure switch located in the control box. I ended up replacing them with electrically operated buttons. I was surprised to see the plywood floor in your anchor locker; I think mine is all fiberglass. As you may recall, I'm especially interested in seeing how the rudder works from the pedestal down....I think you have a video of that work so I'm real interested in seeing it. Thank you so very much for sharing the work. I'm learning from watching your videos.

@DDixon, Thanks man I believe the rudder issue occurred while we were in the Delaware river and accidentally collided with the Reedy Point dike... completely our fault. The blister issue on our boats appears to be a common repair... Guess the epoxy system installed by Beneteau was faulty or the boats are just outliving the useful life of the epoxy they used. The plywood at our bow could have become a major issues if it had failed while underway. Really glad we found and replaced it before taking on lots of water. The holding tank had been removed from the bow of our boat long before we owned it I would assume the hole was cut to remove the tank and the plywood installed at that time... who knows. I'm working on the next episode now and it will include the disassembly and details on how to remove the rudder. Next episode will post in a week or so. Fair Winds and Following Seas SV Acadian
