The damage to the Danish boat, did it occur in the pre-start to race-1 and if so, why didn't the Canadian's protest if there was contact? Why, or how did the coverage & commentators miss the topic?

I don't get, why hitting an object is more penalized then hitting another boat
@NZKiwiRic9 ай бұрын
A fixed course object is a known object. In hitting such an object you are demonstrating complete loss of course understanding and relative position against the speed of your vessel... in this case the boat wad turned directly away from another boat and then into the buoy - but the turn highlighted the vessel had complete loss of situational awareness and course position... Racing collisions invite multiple variables to the current 'moment' which may or may not be clear and evident (such as opponents boat speed, intentions, etc) but there is almost always a guilty party. Thus it is understood a collision of two objects, while terrible in respect to the result, is far less 'reckless'...

Two boats ahead of the US boat did not go thru the actual gate at the finish line. I think that has to be penalized.

In my opinion the organization was at fault putting the marks in the highest congested area right after the start. It was inevitable going to happen. The Australians were the unlucky ones.

That British commentator is so annoying l can only watch these races with just the minimum of volume.

agreed.... actually they are all painful to listen to..I watch without audio now, would be nice to hear more of the team talk on board, actual racing conversations.

1. This is a Maine Reserve 2. SailGP were told over a year ago in the Pre Planning stage 3. SailGP we’re warned not to run this event in summer 4. They were warned that this could happen 5. It is New Zealand law (Maritime Law) So pull your head in F@#k knuckle, go away and actually do some homework.

Pete and Blair ARE eco-activists, they followed the rules here and we ended up having a great event.
