Enjoyed it Leeanne, also appreciated Charle's explanation about the stay sail (middle sail); very cool; also appreciate the warm scenery as I'm currently freezing up in Michigan.

@@theodoredodge Seriously? COOL! How fun to hear from you! I hope you're still diving! We haven't had any opportunity to dive since we started cruising, but once we head back into the Sea of Cortez this spring I'll be pulling out the dive gear. So great to know you're out there following our journey!

Great episode. Those look like ideal conditions for a crossing. I'm assuming there is very little shipping traffic on the Sea of Cortez?
@svjuliet60553 жыл бұрын
Hey, sorry for the delayed response! We've been pretty busy over the holidays. Anyway, yes the conditions for that crossing were excellent! We have now done that crossing three times, and while we rarely encounter any shipping traffic once we get far offshore, there can be quite a lot of it once we get closer to land, especially on the mainland side. So we do have to stay awake on those night watches! 😉 Thanks for watching!

When you do an open water sail like this, is Bubba tethered to the rail to prevent him from falling overboard?
@svjuliet60553 жыл бұрын
Oh absolutely! You’ll notice in all the shots of him, his leash is attached. It’s attached to a cleat, and kept short. So he can’t go overboard. And he really doesn’t move around much in the cockpit when we’re at sea, he just sits next to us. He’ll walk around down below but not up on deck. In fact he’s not even allowed on deck when we’re at sea...just the cockpit.

@@svjuliet6055 I thought that was what the line was, just confirming. He is the perfect "sea dog"!

ohhh I see you also had some nasty swell! eeek and I think Colin and Julian should have a new job....a cameramen and stunt actors! ha ha
@svjuliet60553 жыл бұрын
Yep we had the swell. Bubba was not happy. LOL! Colin & Julian are proving to be excellent second-unit cameramen! 😁
