Sailing in 40 knot winds: We had to turn back! Ep.46

Watch as Bohemia's fearless crew unexpectedly faced the strongest winds (Gale force 8!) of their sailing adventure so far, and decided that returning to the anchorage, tails between their legs and putting the kettle on would be the best course of action! We also arrive in the gorgeous Puerto Escondido, just in time for a special celebration for the Captain!

So what did the 2 Xs mean? I didn't hear that explained and we haven't come across it on our sailing trips

It meant that the buoy was no good and they couldn't guarantee the rope integrity. It was marked for the local diver to service. We moved about 2 hours later when we mentioned it in the marina office.
