The "1000 steps" spot got it's name because of the divers are tired after their dives and have to carry all their equipment up to the vehicles. and at that point it feels like '1000 steps" to get up.

You bought a boat, which isn't cheap, and you now live on it, so you obviously have to maintain the boat., which means, spending some money.
