Furthermore: build some triangle foundations sticking out of the base raft. They cost only 1 wood and 1 plastic and the shark will attack them most of the time. And if you destroy them you get back all of the resources (1 wood and 1 plastic). No waste at all!

I usually craft a spear as one of the first things before expanding the raft. Too much work getting resources to let Bruce eat them :)

Other players recommended I use the stone axe instead of the spear because you end up using less resources overall to fend off the attack.

A stone axe doesnt give you shark steaks by eventually killing the shark. Which give a lot of food and can be really helpful early game.

In hard mode if you kill the shark, then 2 sharks will spawn an if you kill one of them, 2 more will spawn. Chopping down the bitten foundation is your best option here.

Stone axe to deal with shark attacks really is better than the spear at this stage of the game.

Not if you make the spear before the shark attacks, that way you save the resources you would spend rebuilding.

@@unknowncrab56 Spear is expensive on ropes. You need those for collection nets. It's better to lose the 1 plank/1 plastic than to burn through spears that use ropes, and that's on top of having to deal with multiple sharks when they respawn. Keeping it at 1 shark is less expensive overall.

guys always make a spear, its worth the investment instead of losing your nets to Bruce. dont know why this guy held off on it.
