That Mexican sunrise was beautiful. Hopefully I’ll get the balls to make the trip down there this year. 😜

You need to get Stoked down there. I’m in if you need crew.

Good morning Cap. Do you have to check out of San Diego every time you sail out to Ensenada?
@keeldragger5 ай бұрын
No checkout required when leaving the U.S. for U.S. flagged boats. Mexico requires BOTH check in and check out. U.S. does not care about check in/check out papers from Mexico. You do have to check in when entering the U.S. and mostly they are interested in your passports, vessel documentation, and CBP decal.

Nice video. Did you call ahead to the marina before docking or just show up and hope there is a spot for you? I dread having to turn around in close quarters.

I made arrangements about a week in advance and had a specific slip assignment from the harbor master. During my last trip to Ensenada, I started making calls and sending emails to secure a slip while I was offshore near San Clemente and heading South. In that case, I secured my slip about a day in advance of my arrival. Some folks just show up and try to figure it out when the arrive. Better to be proactive than to deal with it when you arrive.

Deja Vu all over again. Lived and sailed off the Baja Naval dock for a couple years 10-15 years ago. Sea lions were bad then, too. Love that flag. It was the largest Mexican flag in the world back then. Never liked Hussongs. Too Gringo. Hung out at Luis Prieta's Tequila's Sports Bar. Almost got to like soccer there. Almost. Unlit fishing boats are a standard anywhere in Mexico of course. Have fun.

The crowd at Hussong's was good. More locals than gringos since there were no cruise ships that day.
