Sailing s/y Panacea, episode 2 - 1500 nautical miles of Pacific swell

With the sale of our Family Pot companion boat, it became tempting to sail to more exotic waters and larger seas. When you watch enough KZbin videos about circumnavigating the globe by sailing, gaining personal experiences on the subject becomes interesting.
So Simo, together with eight other enthusiastic sailors, jumps aboard the experienced captain Tuomo Meretniemi's s/y Panacea boat from Vanuatu for 40 days. The purpose is to sail more than 3000 nautical miles to Indonesia and experience exotic islands and ports on the way. The boat is a 1981 Swan 57, on which Tuomo and his family have already traveled more than half the world.

After a light warm-up in the Vanuatu archipelago, we get down to business. We cross the open Coral Sea and travel 8 days west towards the wild capital of Papua New Guinea. Simon's first proper ocean sailing can accommodate all possible atmosphere and seafaring, from calm sunshine to 50-knot gale force winds.
The length of the leg is about 1500 nautical miles.
