Sailing Swan 55 Galiana from Southampton to Helsinki with skipper Tapio Lehtinen

In October 2019 I had the opportunity to sail the beautiful 55ft yawl "Galiana" to her new home in Helsinki, Finland from Southampton, UK. The boat was skippered by GGR and Whitbread legend Tapio Lehtinen, and crewed by a great mix of new and old friends. It was a wet and cold voyage via Kiel, and nearly non-stop. The boat (and the crew) handled the demanding weather very well - a mainsail blew out in the middle of a gale but luckily we had another one onboard (how often does that happen!). I'm usually not a great sleeper out on the ocean but man, the warm sleeping bag sure felt good during this trip!

Nice video, but I think a real shame you chose to shoot in black and white...

Mixing and matching between iPhone and GoPro material is quite tricky, simply looks better in black and white in my opinion. Also this was a while ago, so to me the nostalgic feeling sits well. Whatever floats your boat! :)
