My home waters. FWIW - its the Socastee Bridge, pronounced "Sah Kuh Stee". :D The cool thing on this section is that starting from either end (Gtown or Lil River), if you start about 2 hours after the tide begins to rise, you will have current push you to Socastee (which is approx the midway point) in about 6-8 hours, and then you enter the 'other side', where the tide will begin to pull you the rest of the way as it falls. Fair winds!

I think I ended up having the current with me the entire day on day 2! I met some new friends at little river who had the opposite experience. And the bridge I didn’t say the full name to was the “Captain Archie Neil Poo McLauchlin Swing Bridge” I couldn’t read it off the phone chart and record at the same time 😂

@@SailinWithTrout lol I wouldn't call it that either! Socastee works just fine. :) They just renamed it to that long name a few years ago. Jealous of your CD33 - what a great boat, at a steal of a price!!! Alberg was the Man when it comes to hull design, and CD made great boats. I've had an A-30, and am currently refitting my '87 Pearson Ariel for long term offshore work. Hope your trip is going well. Fair winds!

@@sailfarsolo love a good sturdy full keel sailboat and Alberg sure designed a great one! Is there anywhere I can follow along to see the Ariel? I’ve always thought they were beautiful boats, and sturdy

The most pristine part of the ICW. Just so different from any other waterway.

Varys place to place. $8-12/ft is about average. A few cheaper options and a lot of more expensive options

Rivers look awesome but I’m not a fan of navigating them in a sailboat. Offshoring is best imho.
