Sailing offshore is great, it builds seamanship skills. Day sailing builds sailing skills if you do it right. When you return to SF, I suggest you join a YC or sailing club, buy a competitive monohull and race the pants off it. As you may know, the racing on SF Bay is world class. Daysailing itself can be boring, racing seldom is.

I’ve (Nate) been really surprised at how relatively little we do get sea sick. It only happens to Eily consistently and I’ve gotten away almost completely unscathed (knock on wood).
