So glad we took the time to do the road trip to Sintra (that’ll be in the Cascais episode soon) and the Douro valley. Stunning 😊 Thanks for your comment 👍🏻😊

Hugely recommend the #FollowIntrepidBear series of videos for anyone sailing down to the med from UK. It feels like a #sailors #lonleyplanet guide to ports, anchorages, sights and tips for a relaxed, safe and fascinating exploration of #europes western coast #france #spain #portugal #history ❤

What a fabulous place Porto was. Very interesting buildings from the old port trade. Port is a prince among drinks. I’m constantly amazed how the experts in the trade can taste an immature port an confidently declare it will be a special vintage in 20 years! A friend of mine took a wine course in the 70s. The port section involved sampling ports of differing ages. The lecturer warned them to just carefully only sip the 5 y o,newly declared vintage. Les told me it was revolting! But 20 years later I happily paid over £500 for one. Drank it all to myself, too! Looking forward to your next voyage and stop. Fair winds and a following sea.

Porto was fabulous and do go up the Douro valley if you can. We drove but apparently it’s also an awesome train journey. Well worth getting up there if you have time 😊

Interesting and illustrated nicely with gentle humour; looks like a great run ashore. I liked the way you picked up on the boaty stuff at the end and I look forward to seeing what happened next. As a guide to future cruisers, it would be useful to learn how you got on with any entry requirements and where/why you anchored, moored, berthed etc where you did. The film of the tide turning was excellent and exactly the sort of thing that should interest any sailor.

Thanks Iain. Appreciate the feedback and glad you liked it, especially as the last “all land” video wasn’t to your taste so it’s good to hear we got a better balance here. The check in thing is s great idea. I kinda forgot all about it as once in the EU the wasn’t much to do between France, Spain and Portugal, it was all simply done at the marina however there are different procedures in some EU countries such as Greece so I’ll take that on board and try to cover it as that is definitely something I’d have liked to have seen before we set off. Cheers ⛵️😊

Catching up on some of your adventures and have now got to end of 2021! I have to admit your views of Porto has made it very appealing to me and my partner is also keen (although next year we're doing the Father Ted views along the roads of the West Coast of Ireland!). Wishing you fair winds for the future and, of course, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Good luck in 2023!!
