Unfortunately we don`t have such mind blowing places here on the German coasts. 20 minutes magic holidays in my living room. Thanks so much ! All the best from Hamburg.

Great job. You have a boat that will take you anywhere.

I’m really enjoying your videos. The Westsail 32 is the boat I’ve been wanting for quite awhile now.

Enjoy your videos. Love the Westsail. First saw one when I sailed up there in 89. George Hoffman on Io. He went on yo complete his circumnavigation I believe.

I really enjoy all your videos, and the Whitsundays voyage particularly so. Have a good break from videography on the return leg, and I hope to see you around the bay when you're back!

Thanks Tony. Sure would be great to see you on the water. I actually took a heap more footage on the return leg because it was just such a spectacular sail. Hope to put that together soon into something watchable.

Regarding the shape pf your main in heavy weather - currently it's loose-footed, have you considered using sail slides / slugs on the foot?
@littlewing.ws32 Жыл бұрын
Hi Adrian When I reef in heavy weather I can flatten the main sail really nicely. I can crank on the reefing lines on the boom mounted winches and have great control over the flatness of the sail. But under full sail I just do not have the means yet to get sufficient pressure on the outhaul. The main used to be attached to the boom via sail slugs, which I took off so I can get a deep curvature into the main in light air. Whilst the sail slugs attach the foot of the sail, I do not think that they really contribute much to flattening the sail. But that is just from my observations and I could be wrong.

@@littlewing.ws32 To be honest I'm not sure either. You could always use ties/lines through the grommets along the bottom of the sail to temporarily attach the foot to the boom - say for when sailing up-wind. That would give you the flexibility to try it out without having to mess around with slugs.

Quick question. What kind of a dingy/tender do you have?
