Hey Aannsha, We’ve been wondering, why is it that you actually get *into* the anchor locker when retrieving your anchor? We had one experience when our chain pinged off the gypsy and unraveled at lightening speed, granted the conditions were much worse that day than yours usually appear to be, but had anyone been _in_ the locker it would have ended really badly. 😬

Hi, good question. I have to flake the chain when I'm bringing it in, as this helps to pay it out smoothly when I'm dropping the anchor. Our anchor locker has a ledge and the windlass sits on the right of the ledge. I can kneel on the left side, and am then able to flake the chain as I bring it up. I am always very careful about where I place my hands (and rest of me) when I'm doing this. And if the chain should run away, I am nowhere near the chain. 🙂

Why bring up the turtle - if you're just going tell us you're advocating compliance in it's death. Did you check for any fish hooks - caught up plastic? Dinner looked fun - but - fish again? The bat cave looked fun - and the water was so bright blue. Sometimes when Baz is shirtless at the bow - I have to stop and take a second look - and reset my orientation. Hope you're having a nice Christmas like you did last year with your friends.

Not sure why mention turtle if nothing was done about it surely if they are protected a vet would have been able to look at it. Or even go over and check to make sure it didn't have a hook and wire stuck that was stopping it from diving. Similarly if you came across a whale with line on it many sailors would do their best to help it
