Hi KC, it is amazing and sometimes it's scary and stressful. Which was something Aannsha and I were chatting about last night. We talked about which bits of handling a 46 foot boat creates stress. For me (Baz) it is coming into an unknown anchorage and finding a spot to drop anchor in among the other anchored vessels. Thanks for watching. 👍

Dear Bazz, whenever you read this I hope you well and healthy. I read some weather info about Europe in July are extremely high temp. May the beer gods be with you...(Not an Efes anymore.... :)

We are well and healthy, thank you. The Greek beer gods are being kind to us and to be honest the temperatures are very comfortable. The highest we've had is 34 degrees C. But unlike Queensland in the summer, there is very little humidity here in the Mediterranean, so we feel very comfortable after 20 years of Australian summers. 🍻👍😀

For ease of storage is there such thing as diesel or propane outboard engines. There looks to be massive cost and space savings by standardizing fuels and machinery components. Love the channel and good night to all, (SillyCon Valley).even though you are probably having breakfast. Keep up the good work
@SailingABSea
@SailingABSea 5 жыл бұрын
(Baz) Coincidental timing there Phil, just yesterday I began researching electric outboards. We produce heaps of wasted electricity from our solar array and some of the new electric engine have a fair amount of torque. 11.20 am here, so breakfast is over, I'm writing another blog and Aannsha is tinkering with our website. Have a good evening. Cheers. 🌜

Aannsha, Baz, There's an extensive thread and a lot of research behind it on the Cruising Assoc forum. In 2010 European services providers fought to break the 2007 EC ruling on roaming charges. Consequently, across Europe we now have what is effectively a state backed cartel that allows the providers to charge higher fees (and apply different rules) for services that cost them no more than normal to provide. It's a very profitable business for them with any competitive element taken away. They is no way around it. .... Let me know if you find one?? However, if you are based in a country for some time it may be worth opening a local bank account with which you can get a local SIM and the best local rates.

Sailing A B Sea baz, it seems to be dependent on location, they advertise it for $9.00 a month in Canada/US. I’m from Canada btw, geographical centre of the country is just a few miles away and we still have a great huge chunk of the country still without cellular service, although I don’t know what moose, bears and beavers would do with a cell/mobile phone 👍🙂

I guess you just take for granted internet access is everywhere, but sure seems to be a different issue for you good folks and I assume satellite access would be very expensive
@SailingABSea
@SailingABSea 5 жыл бұрын
You're correct Mr G satellite Internet is a huge cost. The Internet quest continues. There is something in particular that I'm looking into but in order to make it affordable we'd need to do some sort of deal with the company. We haven't quite figured out how we sell the benefit of our channel to them.
