Glad you're making the switch to 80. The 40 was pretty sketchy! :)

Glad you decided to switch out the schedule 40, bus at mentioned on a pelt with your previous video, think using a hydronic stainless steel manifold and SS valves will be the better choice both on cost and long term durability.

Great information for those that are not aware of side loading for parts/components below the water line.

I was wondering why you where using schedule 40, glad you figured it out. Being a commercial fisherman for 40 years Schedule 80 is the only way to go, if cost is no problem 316 SS is the best option.

Your right silicon bronze is the way to go, a little harder to find all the fittings and valves. @@stevemccormick4938

No pvc near or below the waterline. Be sure to anchor any flex lines going to pvc so when it does break it won't flop to the bilge and flood.

Being European, I don’t know the white stuff, but the grey I do know! I have worked with it in aquaculture, mostly salmon farming, and also when building reef tanks myself. Be aware there are several qualities, Georg Fischer +GF+ being some of the best stuff. You can get motor valves too, and I suggest putting a NC valve right at the inlet. I thought about writing this last week, but better late than never; regarding flow restriction/head, rule of thumb is 2m/s (~6ft/s) flow, no hard reductions, any 90 degree bends gives the same restriction as 6ft of pipe. Please give this some thought and perhaps read up on it, or consult someone who can calculate your head. To me, this is just as important as sizing wiring right and while your pump might be up to the task, you’ll save alot of energy and noise doing it right. Love your work, but love your attitude towards eachother more!

Going to something like nylon or abs rather than pvc that is less fracture sensitive. Pvc just snaps and the older it is the more it is likely to. 😊

Problem is nylon will absorb water

Love the Festool Systainer in the background! Boats + Systainers, do they work well together?
@SailingDauntless9 ай бұрын
Very well, uniform form factor, almost air tight and rugged. I am embarking on a spares/hardware/elec bits organization for the utility room shortly! I have been using Festool and systainers for organization for the last 13yrs.

Good call on switching to schedule 80 bud, it's much safer and will last a lot longer for sure.

Use HD poly irrigation fittings (Blue Line PN12.5), they'll last longer than you & the boat

I’m planing to order a custom 100% electric boat and I’m interested in more information regarding the Air Conditioners you get to work with the batteries. Thanks.

please use hdpe or polyproplene fiitings. go socket weld style and get some one to make up the manfold for you. pvc is brittle and will break. i have worked with plastics for 20 plus years. pvc only get used when it is needed for chemicals. HDPE is the most hard wearing and hard to break. i'm in australia so no help to you but there would be someone local that can make up the manifold for you. there are also pe valves available as well so they will not snap off either. aviod plastic threads at all costs. if you need a joint use a union not a plastic thread.

So a happy accident! Obviously a sign from the universe telling you that wasn't a good idea, and even better you decided to listen & figure out what how why. Looking forward to next weeks video.

I’ve got to ask, I’ve been watching you guys for a while now. I am not casting aspersions but are you guys sort of procrastinating, owning a boat is getting out there and enjoying it. I understand that you want everything perfectly finished, all your mod-cons etc, but I imagine that there is a lot more of life happening behind the camera that we don’t see and you got two daughters, I have 4 daughters so I know how that goes. I’m trying to say (badly) don’t forget to enjoy the boat and what it was created to do.

Most super yachts use schedule 80 for their ac manifold, it's extremely common and safe according to regulators like Lloyd's.

Are you going to resume publishing on a regular basis?

We are really working hard make that happen. Sometimes life, boat project snafus, and fatigue just get in the way and we run out of time to publish a weekly video. Don't worry, you're not missing any content 😃 We appreciate your patience with our new editing endeavor ❤️

So while your conclusion is not incorrect, what you applied is dynamic load, and the actual force would not just be the weight of the hammer, it would also include the acceleration of the weight of the hammer (f=ma). Static load would be like hanging a bunch of weight on the part.
@divekatdreaming10 ай бұрын
He knew that...that is why he guessed that he put 10 or 15 pounds of force on that with an easy swing.
