Hi family do it yourself. 5 stars to you. Wanted to commend you all on your commitment, dedication and endurance. This makes you a successful family tackling this type of project. Learning doing learning doing. Brilliant. I'm more impressed what you are accomplishing as a family, and rallying around this and sticking with it , .... Kudus deluxe. Almost jealous, haha in a damn good way. I cant wait to see you all sailing the world and becoming all Columbus's in your own way learning so much as she goes. Well done dad and mom in heading up this endeavor. Great great family experience and what could be more important. Oozing admiration for you all. Xxxxx

Enjoying the different flavour of this build. Watch several other boat builders but the element of risk and time concern is something new. Been lurking in the cheap seats being quiet, but now that I know the algorithm likes comments, ( who knew?)will chime up more often.

You have every right to be proud ! I think you and your whole family have amazing dedication and the quality of all the work is outstanding ( And I'm a bit OCD) better than a factory repair I'm sure as they wouldn't have the same attention to detail as you guys. I can't wait to see the Hull in one piece keep it up well done and this is going to be a stunning boat when complete.

Quick question. So the keels are no longer sacrificial? It seems if you ever hit a reef or something and the keel gets ripped off then water could come in through the holes you drilled to fill it with foam. Am I missing something? I know you know far morthan I do. Just a suggestion, you may want to keep these molds in case you or someone else may ever need them. Great work ! Awesome crew!

Thank You for this week's video 🎥. Have ya'll thought about using the white pigment color in your resin? It will finish white and you don't have to pait it later. Should save time and money. Go watch Sale Life when he made is freezer from scratch and he did that. Ok until next week, Aloha from the Big Island 🏝 of Hawaii 🏝!
@SailingDauntless2 жыл бұрын
Aloha! We have been using thickened gel coat to smooth out any undulation in the parts. Gel coat is polyester resin with while pigment in it😊👍 then it matches the rest of the boat and we have a layer over the structural fiberglass that we can sand to shape!

You guys are doing some amazing work on the boat, but there is just so so much left to do. How much longer can all of you work like dogs on this boat without getting burned out? Seems like you could use another 6 or 8 experienced boat builders to get all of the work done. How’s your budget for the repairs thus far?

Great job but all that sanding and no masks or eye protection. The vaccuum catches some but look at the dust fibers floating around and residue on your gloves. The glass fibers are cancer catalists! Take care be safe.

Wait a minute now? Aren't you a little too "young" to play music ?? From 1970? 😂😂😂 I was born in the middle of the last century 😱 and in 1970 I was 15 years old and CCS was my favorite band after the Beatles! And the song Boom Boom with CCS makes me remember back when I was "younger". In addition, I follow your job with the boat to reach the goal of your dreams.
