Don't know if you've now got in your 'go to' box for your electronics... but a couple of cans of "air in a can" and compressed Electronic Cleaning Solvent are always a good handy thing to have when trying to dry out/clean the inside of things like a laptop. Surprised that you don't always use non spill mugs in any case. Great video as always.

Ref Jackson: You're not far from Prickly Bay in Grenada. The St George's University Veterinary School is within walking distance of the anchorage and they were brilliant. If memory serves me correctly, the treatment was free, but this may have changed - I was last there in about 2014

Our GSD gets hot spots everytime we go to the cottage. It's often caused by him getting a scratch and then he stays wet for 3 days because GSD coats are so thick. ☹️ So mabey when Jackson played with Bodie in the water he got scratched and then hot spots. Once it starts to dry out it will heal quickly. Xoxoxo from Gunner the GSD.
@SailingSunday2 жыл бұрын
I think it was exactly that! I've been running him on the beach 4-5 times a day and washing him down with fresh water each time too. I learned my lesson down here in the tropics now! Once we head back up north it will be easier again, its like once we got to the Grenadines/Grenada the humidity just changed everything in our lives completely!

@SailingSunday2 жыл бұрын
Yes we have looked into it, but he has 2 coats, and everyone keeps saying you can't shave him. With the humidity down here we just have to keep a close eye on it for the next few months and give him a bit extra TLC until we get up a few degrees north again

If you have Clorox or Bleach mix 1/3 cup of bleach with 2/3 cup of water and dab it on Jackson’s hot spots and they should go away faster. It usually takes a couple of days of doing it. If you don’t have any, that “Starting Fluid” (spray) that you spray in the carburetor would probably work too but you would spray it on a tissue and not dilute it, it will also dry it out. Hydrogen peroxide has “drying” qualities too & kills the bacteria, but the bleach works best & fastest. I can’t remember but I think German Shepherds are double-coated so moisture would be a problem for him anywhere that’s real humid, you might see about giving him a body shave but not really short, he’ll sunburn. I would ask a groomer or a Vet first, some breeds they just don’t recommend ever clipping but I can’t remember if GS’s are. I hope he’s better by the time you see this & you’re not worrying about it. What a great place to have to yourselves, it looked amazing. Can you imagine the money people spend just to have the ability to walk around, sit at the tables and walk down the boat dock??
@SailingSunday2 жыл бұрын
Yeas all ok now 😀 It was definitely the humidity. We can’t shave him because he’s part husky so has the double coat etc. we are just taking more care to dry him and brush him every single day down here now 😀

Hi Brit, Ryan, Jackson and Bodie great vlog, love the yeast debacle 😭🤣😂 I did the same with rice and actually made a whole bucket😭 please get an ointment called( ilium Neocort ) from vet or online, Brit I buy from Canada, it's an anaesthetic, antiseptic, antibiotic and anti inflammatory skin emollient cream all in one, I've been using it on my 7 dogs for yrs and it's fabulous really clears up any infection quickly. The amount of bacteria in salt water will blow ur mind, especially in and around marinas, and they are pushed to the edges of beaches from the wave and tides. Hey u both need to stay away from the oven, who knows what's gonna happen next. Glad u were safe from Hurricane Ian. Take care 🌈🇦🇺🇨🇦🤙🐕🐕
@SailingSunday2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes we have about 4 different types of antibiotics now! He has cleared up, we even borrowed a shaver from one of our sailing friends and they gave us some cream to help shave the hair for the application! He's much better now :)
