Go Sailing they said, it will be fun they said...
I once heard that sailing as a couple is an express ticket to divorce, well, that and at the boat ramp! This week we take you right into our lives of a real sailing couple living on our 46' sail boat.
Sardinia is quite amazing, beautiful, actually it's incredible but when you're living on a sail boat things can also be stressful, difficult and tiring. Anchoring together, breaking stuff, finding supplies. We will show you how we deal with all this as we sail up the east coast of Sardinia, Italy.

I truly do not understand why some of the best sailing channels do not have more subscribers. Sailing Sunday is at the top of this list. Two very personable, good looking, capable sailors, beautiful surroundings, excellent story telling, all star pet ( didn’t forget you Jackson!) should add up to 100k . Perhaps it will just take a bit more time…. Keep at it kids, it’ll happen. See you next week…

Wow, thank you! We sat down this month and worked out that we need to grow to continue with these rescues and grow them too, so we want to strive to do that🤞. I think there's a lot of background work we need to learn and will research and hopefully oneway hit that 100k! That would be amazing!

You both have changed so much since you first came aboard Sunday. Love watching your videos, they inspired me and my boyfriend to buy a sailboat (we should complete the sale NEXT WEEK!) and we'll hopefully be hitting the med soon with Shep (our german shepherd) and our cat Missy. I know it might be a lot to ask but would it be possible for you guys to make a full video on what it's like having animals on board - how often you walk Jackson, how it was for Jackson adjusting to his little grass pad, how do the pups and kitties do with seasickness - that sort of thing? Like "a day in the life of Jackson" - any tips, tricks, things you'd wish you'd known about having animals on board before you started. Just an idea! :D Big thanks, have a good weekend and might bump in to you someday!

@@SailingSunday Ok thanks for the info re laptops. Nelson is 11 years old and is becoming an old age pensioner now, eye sight not so good, legs very achey first thing in the morning etc. He has been known recently to walk straight off the dock into the water thinking that’s where the dinghy should have been, I’m sure that’s an eyesight issue, especially at dusk.

im so glad you wrote this, because before we even picked up anchor we planned it "Brittni, see that island there, we will sail close hauled towards it as close as we can, then turn downwind"... then I said the same thing as we were coming up to it, then I said it when we were about to do it and the whole time she was on her phone then grabbed the camera to film and said, what are we doing??? So I put the blame on her, but she's so caught up in me saying tacking in the heat of the moment... When she reads all these comments/replies, I'm definitely sleeping on the couch tonight... 😂😂😂😂

Thor is so good, I'm actually going to get a THOR t-shirt made and wear it in our videos sometime!!!! haha, but really, theres just no comparison! Might want to invest in a plastic cover for the top of the keys. A lot of very fine dust, and dog and cat hair can be sucked into the computer over time, making the laptop run hotter as the hair gradually builds up around the motherboard. Hi guys! I'm italian. Our law says that dogs are perfectly fine on the beach. Our governament rent the beach to private bathing facilities. In that case you can stay with the dog in the wet area of the beach that is ALWAYS public and not private. Also we have many beach where dogs are allowed. That kind of beach is mandatory every a certain amount of km of coast line. It's important to mind that in avery moment no matter what the dog has always to be on a leash of a maximum lenght of 2m.
@SailingSunday
@SailingSunday 3 жыл бұрын
Yes I read that somewhere, but when you roll up on a dinghy with Jackson yelling out to everyone, its usually a different story!! haha!! Nah, we do go to the beaches all the time with no hassles, usually more secluded. I think it's the swimming beaches that are roped off, they must be the private swimming ones then. We've had a few people yell out at us there in the past.

1. While sailing there is absolutely NO discussion about the commands of the skipper. Never. Afterwards one can ask questions. Everything else is just to dangerous. The skipper is responsible for everyone on board. The crew just has to follow his commands while under way. NO matter if you are his wife or whatever. 2. Learn sailing yourself !!! But still then there's only one that has the crew on command. Follow the instructions immediately without asking and thinking. You may change the skipper role day by day or watch by watch. But you want to check out with your insurance who's responsible in the end. That person has the final word when sailing or maneuvering. It's urgent importance anyone on board is able to sail the boat. Women on board must be far more than sunbathing nymphs. Everyone at least needs have succeeded a safety medical course and better also a base course on mechanical and electrical repairs. You want to be emancipated? Then do so and take all the boring jobs as your man does.

You will not want hear this but you could have bought two better laptops for the price of the Mac. You do realise it has been many years since the hardware is generic. I had no choice but to learn on a Mac as many schools were gifted free Mac labs. But I also learned macs always had issues and have never bought one and I have used my high end pc laptops for design work without issues ever. They last as long as I want to continue to use them. There is a reason there are so many Mac service centers.
@SailingSunday
@SailingSunday 3 жыл бұрын
I thought the same, I have never been an apple user, actually I built a few gaming computers back in the day, but we can't have a power hungry computer onboard. I've used 2 laptops i7, 16gb ram, 500ssd, good graphics card (a few years ago) for editing and they were definitely great but 4x more power hungry than a Mac, but they still always skipped, freeze, heat up etc and I would have to wait hours for rendering at the end and if it froze in that time I would be pissed!!!! having to start again... I don't know why but (when the Macs not broken) I can load up 200gb of footage on the MacBook & it starts rendering instantly while I'm editing and I just power straight through it... Then when I'm done, it takes about 5 minutes to save onto the desktop! Maybe its the program we use, I dunno but when you spend so many hours editing videos on the boat, the efficiency is definitely key, and of course power consumption is important! but you're right, I feel pretty ripped off buying this...

It if works for you then that is great. Never considered the power consumption. A little surprised with your experiences as macs are known for the frozen screens. I use architecture/engineering programs and the 3d stuff is large and I do not know anyone except for a few small offices that use macs. As a prof my students who had macs often suffered lost work and were often visiting the service center. Cheers

@@matjam8305You wouldn’t believe this, but my windows laptop just broke as well and wanted to keep saving for a 2nd MacBook so we can both edit at the same time but now you’ve got me thinking of going back to a windows laptop again! Being a prof and engineer, I got the feeling you know what you’re talking about!!! 😁

Please do your own research. You may have different experiences. I was recently checking out laptops when mine went in for repairs here in TR. My mistake trying to use an adapter for the 12v after trying to find a plug that works fried the battery and charging cards. Will stick to inverter now. I have a Huawei phone which I bought locally and everything electronics here is expensive - phone was double the cost. I am surpsied at how good the phone is and the battery life is amazing. The laptops I saw in the stores with good specs were about half the cost of the macs. Hint - you can get education discounts or free software. I have bought cheaply Adobe suites, rhino, etc. and get free use of any auto desk products which I need to renew every three years which is generally when newer versions come out. If you know someone who is a student then get them to register for you. Cheers

Your MacBook's probably overheating because the fan/heatsink's all clogged up with Jackson's hair.

We thought that too, but don't worry, we had definitely cleaned it out a few times because it was haha, Im not 100% sure, but I think it was having it connected to a separate screen!? maybe the graphics card was working twice as hard!? but I dunno, it was definitely stuffed! lol

lol... Yeah we did... It is frustrating, they are so bloody expensive apple stuff, I used to be against them but now we have replaced what he have, we will save and try out another laptop as our second. Its very difficult editing these videos, website, social media etc all on 1 laptop.
