A little random, but I'm so happy to see you both modeling safety and wearing respirators while doing this work. I feel like so many DIY videos on youtube don't respect the danger of working with some of these materials that could mess up your long-term health.

So I had to Google... "don't buy a couch" You guys are awesome! It was nearly a decade ago and Dan... you were a bit of a dork, love from NJ. I think you two are good people and I wish you the best. I was trained as a landscape architect and have gone another path as-well. BTW, one of you shirts will be on my 24' Christmas list. Hope all is well

In my younger days I loved sanding & finishing and getting that coat of paint on… SO satisfying to see the results! But as I’ve done it a gazzilion times over the many many years…. YA, you couldn’t pay me enough to do that sanding, cleaning, taping, painting and cleaning again! Ugh I HATE doing it now. But I LOVED seeing this and your excitement!! Can’t wait for her drop back in the water‼️🤠👍🏼☮️☮️

Looking good 🎉 I had some high end automotive paint and before painting they recommended just a wash with dish soap before paint. Acetone is only good to wipe raw fiberglass. If the surface is painted the acetone would smear the paint. So not a good surface. The paint company also said to use minimal reducer but later found out they say that to make it California compliant. So you need to use more reducer for good results.🎉

Kika, it's not the fumes! I have already lived in my new boat - when she had only hull sides on! Had to move on since the weather is not really compatible with living in an open-top space (it is getting down to 5 degrees C here during the night!) but i'm closing hulls with decks now and when I come back in December to laminate I'll be looking forward to painting my main cabins and moving IN! Finally, after 4 years of hard work :) I've been painting some spaces already as I''m a little bit bigger than you and trying to get into some lockers with a roller and a tray of epoxy primer would be a recipe for disaster. But main spaces are waiting for a bit more of a finish before paint job I have enjoyed this part greatly - as I'm thinking along the same lines as you: brush/roller/spray? In my case spray wins so far as i'm using thicker paints than you (so larger tips for spray gun and thicker coat on one pass) - and having a wooden construction I have far too many nooks and crannies to bother with brush or roller! But still it was good to see your thinking process behind these choices and confirm mine all the same! Dan, thanks for your little test piece! Enjoy - now you are starting the fun part of your work. Cannot wait to be there as well! ps Have you managed NOT to paint your socks? (that was brave choice - but I guess it is better to paint your socks than shoes!)

Hi, thanks for answering the question about the light coming through the hull and other spots I had been curious about that. When you were going through the paint I became curious as to how much weight it will add to build. It seems to me to be heavy on the shelves but what do I know 🤓.

Hi guys, you were focused on the another channel when you’re talking about twin twin rudders and mention your boat is 50 years old or around there and you’ve got no idea about twin runners on the widebody yachts anyway, just interesting to see how people react. Many folks who are rebuilding/refitting boats add a dark (black or other very dark color) paint over the sections of the hull/deck that are transmitting a lot of light. White and light colors don't always do the whole job.
